AR15 conversion?

I own a S&W MP15 556
and Im getting the bug of 22 rimfire
I wanted to know what are any calguners
are doing with the bullet buttons on your
AR when your using a conversion on your riffle
do you live them on or can they be removed when shooting
rimfire.

I would suggest you contact me before you buy that.
It is an older, discontinued kit that does not have the features of the new Evolution kits.
I would also recommend you get stainless. Stronger, slicker, runs better, uses less lube, and stays cleaner longer.

Please expand on this because I have the non-stainless version and I'm curious aas to how much better the SS version is performance wise. Can the non-SS version be made slicker via judicious sanding/buffing/polishing? Do I really need the forward assist of the SS version?

The same model as what the op posted but in SS is $149 from CDNN. I and a friend bought one, both ran perfect out of the box. Only malfunctions were the occasional dud 22 rounds.

You do not need a bullet button when shooting rimfire... If you go back to shooting centerfire then you need to have the bullet button back in.

As long as you never put a centerfire bolt back in the rifle then you dont need the bullet button.

I looked at this and was very interested.

Then I checked their website for a 5.56 upper http://www.cdnninvestments.com/arm4fltopupa.html and their website says they will not ship this to CA. I called them and they confirmed that "company policy" is to not ship to CA.

Is there a legality problem here or is it that this company does not want to be bothered?

Since this is an upper it seems to me that they can ship it to an individual and do not even need an FFL.

Am I missing something here or is it just CDNN?

If this product is CA legal is there another source near the same price that does ship to CA? If not would it be a problem to have it shipped to someone out of CA and then have that someone reship it to me?

Yes, I would contact Dave, he knows the CMMG products pretty well. I was deciding on a conversion kit but I think I will be going towards a full CMMG 22LR upper for better accuracy and performance. Dave can order the CMMG products and the pricing with the options are very good.

That must be another discontinued item. CMMG does not sell uppers with no BCG. And they will ship uppers to CA.

That product IS legal in California...

CDNN and some other dealers are just stupid and would rather not be bothered to ship things into California. Those dealers do not deserve any support for us since they treat us like some kind of second class.
