It is true. However, the article ran early and Ruger issued this press release: https://www.facebook.com/notes/ruger...73308959400234

I read the article a week or so ago. That's hilarious Guns & Ammo released the story too soon. At least we know they are actually making it and I have time to save up for one.

If this thing has a .222 bore I would be all over it. The 22 mag cylinder just makes them have to have a compromise bore of .223 to accommodate the larger bullet, thus why the Single Six accuracy is mediocre at best. The bullets are bigger and would require more room than there is in that cylinder, so no mag cylinder for this one. The mag cylinder is worthless in my opinion anyways. If I want a 22 mag or 22lr handgun, I want the correct size barrel for the round.

I doubt it does have a LR bore, but I'm waiting for that answer from Ruger.

-And I have it. It has the same bore dimensions as the convertible.

Scootergmc I don't know where you got your info on the bore size because acording to the G&A article the bore has smaller dimensions than the barrels for 22wmr. It says the specs call for a bore of .2160 to .2180 with a grove diameter of .2210 to .2225.

I have not seen the G&A article on the Single Ten. Are you still talking about the SP101?

But for what it's worth, my info came from Ruger customer service.

Yes I was thlnking about the SP101 sorry I should have stuck to the original post topic. And you right they should make the Single Ten a LR bore.

Gorenut I have a Star model single six. Only came with 22lr cylinder. Made only one year.

A Single Ten in 17 HMR would be interesting

Yes, but it is still unfired, much like all my guns...

Dang you. go break it in!

Sadly, I'm pretty much at the point where I think I'll be getting rid of all my revolvers simply because its just easier solidifying to a single caliber and currently 9mm is my caliber of choice. However, I still love revolvers so I've really been looking for a .22 for cheap plinking and still living my revolver dreams.
