    My "Transformer" is done !!!

I'm pretty much a regular at the Steel Challenge match over at my local gun club. Quite a few of the guys are starting to shoot it with 22 caliber rifles... seems like a good idea to me but didn't have a suitable rifle.... yet. Now in my mind just any ol' rifle won't do, has to be something that stands out from the rest.

Bought a basic Ruger 10/22 and the Fun Gun Conversion. Also bought a finned 16.5" barrel from Tactical Innovations and a for real Cutts Compensator that had been removed from a demilled Thompson. Once everything was on hand it only took an hour or less to put the whole thing together.

The thing that really turned out neat converting the drum magazine from one of the Airsoft Thompsons.

Will be naming it "The Transformer". Now the only thing it needs is a good red dot sight. Found one in the RimfireCentral Classifieds... should be here around the end of the week.

Now it is time to start looking for a double breasted pin stripe suit coat and an Al Capone hat so that I can dress properly for the Steel Challenge event next month.

I was expecting optimus prime, not organized crime.

Very cool conversion man, what you did with the magazine is awesome.

No offense. A red dot does not belong on that gun. I think you lose novelty vintage points with a red dot. It has a cutts compensator, so it would be cool to have the 300 yard or so read ladder sight like the civvy thompson. I am just saying, that would be the ideal optic in my mind, over a red dot which belongs on a ar copy in .22lr. Not sure if someone makes a replica of that ladder sight but if they did, it would be amazing.

Either way, looking forward to photo of a fellow calgunner in a al capone suit with that sweet thompson. Pics or it didn't happen. Preferably pics with brass in air and the target in view.
