I just ordered a 10/22 cheapo model from Turners for $199.

First thing that has to go is the stock and then I need an optic.

Almost bought the CZ but I really wanted a semi-auto
Congrats!! Yep, sandpaper and a copper pipe will do the trick, here is the video from youtoube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P4FEq9ry6gE . But that's for later, when you want to upgrade to bull barrel. I would suggest the zoom scope, instead of fixed like the one I bought, kinda short for even at 100 yards. I'm sure you'll be happy with the 10/22. Oh, and don't forget to get the bolt release plate (or grind off the little piece of metal in middle of "heart shape") the stock plate sucks, and lastly the bolt buffer and you should be good to go... for now :-).
