Time for a .22 Long Rifle!

Please recommend me one! I want something other than a Marlin 60 or a Ruger 10/22.

I want something reliable and decent looking with a scope. Maybe Savage?

I bought a Mossberg Plinkster because it was real cheap. It sucks very badly.

I own a Savage Mark II and it is a great rifle. They come in many different models, the one i got came with no sights but was tapped for a scope mount and also a heavy barrel..very accurate.

I want something accurate that I can use to practice shooting without raping my wallet in .308 ammo...

I would recommend a Savage.

Here is my Savage MK II BRJ with a BSA Sweet 22 scope and a bipod. I have shot consistently at 300+ yards with this rifle/scope combo and cheap bulk ammo.

How bout a Henry Golden Boy .22lr Lever action rifle. Sweet little shooters with a super smooth action. Great gun.

300 yards? what is this real life??

FEDEX just dropped of two blonds Kimber 82G. One will sport a Leupold 3-9 X 50 glass and the other will be iron sights. Can't wait to get it set up. Probably will not be as accurate as some of your rigs but I will have lots of fun with it.

Nothing special. I paid 500 for the rifle but the price has dropped since I purchased it. The scope is also a great asset.

This scope is different. You sight it in at a fixed range lets say 100 yards. I used a laser bore sight (cheap and easy) Then you set the turret to 100 yards. Thats it. (you will have to fine tune at the range like on all rifles/scopes)

If you want to shoot at 25 yards you just set the dial to 25 yards. Same with 50, 75, ect.

Eventually you run out of numbers on the turret so I had to do some guess work past 175yds until I figured out an easy way to make it work.

Whatever you shoot past where the numbers run out you have to add.

For example 200 yards. There is no number for 200 yards so you set it at 100 yards and then spin the turret around until it reads 100 yards again. 100+100=200

Understand?

Same works for 300 100+100+100=300

I haven't tried 400 yet because it has been too windy.

Great thanks! I didn't even think it was possible to hit anything at 100+ yards with a .22 expecting any sort of accuracy but this has greatly motivated my spirits!

So basically on the 22 scopes you don't have MOA adjustments but you just adjust to a specific range instead? Thats pretty cool.
