Looking for a ipod for my Savage Mark II. I've seen a lot of different bipods and I'm wondering if they're all more or less the same?

no.. there is the nano, the touch, etc...theyre all different
on a serious note, all my bipods are Harris swivel models. They are very rugged and are more solid than lesser models i looked at. I cant bring myself to buy anything but harris. Some guys will say their walmart models have been great to them, but i prefer something with a stellar reputation and more solid feel.Last edited by trob; 03-29-2011, 1:06 PM. -
I just bought a winchester bipod from walmart In orange for my savage mark II. It's very close to a Harris, and it's very good quality for 40$. Sturdy and great build quality. Doesnt look cheap at all. Im very impressed!
Since your local to me. Cruise down to walmart and check them out. The one in Orange has them stocked all the time.Last edited by xxINKxx; 03-29-2011, 3:24 PM."If a law is unjust, a man is not only right to disobey it, he is obligated to do so." - Thomas JeffersonComment

I would go with Harris

dont have to worry about possible quality issues if used with a larger heavier rifle"Americans have the right and advantage of being armed - unlike the citizens of other countries whose governments are afraid to trust the people with arms." James Madison

I bought a $20 UTG bipod off amazon for my marlin. Never really handled a more expensive one but this thing is as durable as I can imagine I'd need it to be.Comment

I got my r700 an atlas v8. It's way nicer than the Harris I had but more than 2x as expensive. Preloading it is a piece of cakeBrian Kelly

If you're only doing bench shooting then the 6"-9" is all you need. Any prone or varmit shooting I'd go with the 9"-13". I'd pay the extra for the swivel model as well, it's worth the cost, especially if you ever shoot out in the field on uneven ground.Comment

I have 2 Harris notched legs non swivel bipods
6-9" and 9-13"
of the two I prefer the 9-13" personally"Americans have the right and advantage of being armed - unlike the citizens of other countries whose governments are afraid to trust the people with arms." James Madison

Yeah, I was reading the reviews and it seems the 9-13 is what I want. I find it silly to be tired to a bench. Being able to go prone is ideal for any precision rifle.OCSD Approved CCW Instructor
