Are all bipods the same?

Quality of bipod should match that of the rifle IMHO. I'm not going to put a $75 Harris on my $300 Marlin and there's no way I'm mounting a $30 Winchester brand on my Cooper.

Yes and no... The bipod can always be moved to another rifle, or sold. I see not wanting to spend a ton on a bipod, but it's not like you're wasting money.

I have the 6-9 and 9-13, and I actually prefer the 6-9 for pretty much all shooting. Shooting prone, on rocks, etc, I never need it above 9". And when im shooting prone, i actually like the height right around 7-8".

Shooting prone at the 9" height is uncomfortable to me. But Im 6' 170lbs, so my belly isnt lifting me very far off the ground.

I have a Caldwell 9-13 tilt model. Its about half the price of a Harris, but not quite the quality either. I really like it so far. I got it at BassPro Shops for $55 plus tax.

Dude relax the bipod is not sugically grafted to the gun after you mount it

like most other things...the more you pay, the better the quality by and large.

i prefer the versa-pod or Harris when i use a bi-pod.

No dude... i use a sandbag and am just as accurate and precise.

...i have Leupolds on my rimfire CZ's...well worth it...

but I'd rather use the sandbags like was mentioned before.

i do have Harris and versa-pods but i also made a sandbag that i carry with me and fill/empty as needed. it's not as heavy and cumbersome as a bi-pod and you needn't worry about the 'pod snagging on undergrowth when stalking.
