In the testing I've done over the past 10 months the CMMG uppers have proven themselves to be very, very reliable.
Accuracy has been more than acceptable.
With CCI mini mags I'm shooting 1.2" at 50 yards with a stock barrel and 4 x scope.
Eley gave me .807 at 50 yards.
These are made from real AR parts, not plastic.
Options include forward assist and bolt hol open.
Stainless BCG's, anodized uppers, free float hand guards.
Just depends on what you want.

im in the same boat as you. i have been looking around and i hear the cmmg dedicated uppers are nice. i know they are in the <$400 price range, i just dont know the best place to find one.

I have some of cmmg's other products, and their fit and finish is top notch

              these issues.

I figured I would take some time and do a quick review on this product. Id just like to say before all t he haterade starts coming out about a

I am very satisfied with it ..Very light weight set up
now that it is mounted to a PlumCrazy lower.

I bought it for about $270 out the door a gunshow.

Nice! What about $425 for a complete .22lr AR?
                  Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

I have a tacsol upper w/ tacsol compensator.. just put on the comp and its sweet, basically the barrel doesn't move off target when you shoot, its that stable (didn't move much before, but the difference is notable. Groups are very good even thought i've only shot it offhand so far with irons. i'm happy, but I also lucked out and got the upper for 350$ new through a friend... not sure i'd be as happy at regular price.

I used a TacSol comp during testing. It is effective.

The Chiappa is currently on sale from the manufacturer for $299 shipped...

I've got one of them and do like it. It runs 100% with the BDM mags, and is a nice light weight upper.

If you guys are willing to spend 300-500 on a 22lr upper, why not just buy whole gun, Big five had a sale for the colt m4 22lr. for 350. and the simth and wesson is decently priced as well. i believe i paid 450 for my colt m4, but witht he extra lower i just built a 9mm ar15

Again, depends on what you are after.
A dedicated upper can be used on a standard lower. It can be set up like any other AR. Weight is the same, same trigger you are used to.
The Uramax is what it is.
The S & W is polymer. The lower cannot accomodate another upper.

I do agree, if you are simply looking for a .22 that looks like an AR, there are plenty out there.
Even Mossburgh is making one. Looks like an AR, thats it.
