I bought the 77/22 all weather from a calgunner, used; and got a lot of use out of it. The wood stock and conversion parts were $200 (approx). I dislike the synthetic stock enough that the wood stock was well worth the purchase. Plus, it looks great with wood contrasting the stainless steel.

I'm sure that you will not make that mistake in terminology again. No your not bad, just made a mistake.

10/22 Marlin 795 Sig 522 S&W 15-22 all should do you nice just depends on what you want to spend and what you want it to look like.

Marlin 60 ,,, Marlin has sold more than 10 million of these since it was introduced, far more than any other .22 rifle. They are inexpensive and accurate out of the box. They can be found for between 150-200$ new. And one of mine shoots under 1/2 inch at 50 yards with target ammo (SK standard). I own two. Fun to shoot, and big bang for your buck.

This one is stainless. I bought a Boyds thumbhole stock on sale for $40 and refinished myself.

If you want an auto-loader, 10/22. It's been around for decades, it's rugged, reliable, and reasonably accurate. And the supply of aftermarket parts is huge, so you can customize it anyway you want.

                  -But-

If you really want to hit the same spot over and over....

Get a Savage MK II in whatever configuration suits your budget and desire. These are widely recognized as astoundingly accurate "out of the box" bolt rimfires.....and with some tuning they get even better.

I would have to say my bull barrel 10/22. It's very accruate and a semi auto (FUN). best of both worlds.

I prefer the 10/22 over the Marlin Model 60 for only one reason, detachable mags on the 10/22 over the tube mag on the Marlin. Other than that, the Marlin is a great gun. Turners just had them for $149.

That said, I sure love my Smith M&P 15/22. I own all three and plan on getting another 10/22 and M&P 15/22 soon so I can shoot when I take my grandkids and friends out. They always flock to my 10/22 and M&P 15/22. I wouldn't hesitate to get a Marlin if the deal is right either.

Mind if I ask how much you paid for your M&P 15?.....
i've been going over video reviews of it and they seem very favorable so far

I love my Remington 597 VTR tactical, it's fun to shoot and very accurate. There is one brand of ammo it doesn't like though. They were under $300 a couple months ago and I think some places have them for about $300 now.

10/22. Great fun right out of the box and then there are all the mods you can make!

This one is for sale in the classifieds,
