    10/22 not feeding

I just completed my new 10/22 build. Evolution 2 body, Zimmerman Arms (Green Mountain) fluted barrel, Voltq extractor, tuffer buffer, rimfire technologies charging handle and trigger. I brought it to the range and it wasn't cycling. 1 round would chamber, but then would jam. I pull the mag out and then fire the round, reseat the mag and then the same thing happens.

    Any advice?

IIRC, GM barrels have tight chambers. Did it do that with different brands of ammo? What ammo were you using? Are the magazines new?

Try a few different types of ammo. Find something that makes it work until it is well broken in.

I tried cci mini mags then federal bulk (its all I had). But then gave up because it kept failing.

This is the build. I like looking at it, but I wish that it shot as good as it looks.

Are you using the factory 10 round mags or something aftermarket?

I'm using the factory mags, and everything is new.

Have you tried more than one mag? Ruger mags eventually plug up with powder flakes, and brass/lead shavings. They need to be cleaned once in a while.
Find out from the barrel supplier if that barrel has a "Match" chamber. If it does, that's most likely your problem.

What is happening if it is a match chamber?

+1. I had issues once with mine not cycling. I took apart the mag, cleaned it all up, said a few choice words while trying to put it back together and then she worked fine after that.
                      Insert something clever here.

Match chambers are really tight, and don't allow for much tolerance in other components. Barrel retailers usually specify if they are Match, and offer both.
Dis-assembly and re-assembly of a Ruger 10 shot mag for a first timer will have you pulling your hair out and wishing you had an extra pair of hands.
There "was" a website with pics and detailed instructions, but it's a dead link now. Fortunately I printed it out for a buddy. If I can find the copies, I'll scan them to my files, and post them here in a new thread.

I found some pretty good videos on you tube on how to disassemble and re assemble the 10/22 mags. made it actually look easy.

also make sure the extractor is centered in the barrel notch and not hitting, as it will cause problems

Process of elimination: put the factory extractor back in and see if the problem goes away. If it does, there is your answer. Change the barrel back to factory, different mags, etc.
I usually recommend when building a rifle to start one piece at a time checking to make sure it still works and build up from there, rather than sticking a bunch of aftermarket stuff on a gun expecting it to be perfectly fine.
