    Is this good accuracy?

    Hey guys!

So I took my fathers old Marlin 783 out to the range with a new barska 3-9x scope

    this was at 50 yards

I dont know too much about groupings or accuracy ( just fell in love with guns a year ago!) , I just pointed at the target and focused on a nice easy trigger pull and this is what I got, so can anyone tell me if its good? Completely stock 80s Marlin, Federal 50 grain 22 mag

Well... ya got one group a little high, one a little low, one a little right, and one a little left... but at least you're consistent

Seriously... that's not bad at all.
See how it does at 100yds.

Haha thanks, i wasnt trying to group them at the same time, I would alternate between each black dot , next time i go out im going to just place 4 repetitive shots as close as i can to each other!

          ...wait...what?

yea go for groups next time. shoot 5-shot groups (all 5 at the same spot ) That will undoubtedly make your groups even better.

Most civilization is based on cowardice. It's so easy to civilize by teaching cowardice. You water down the standards which would lead to bravery. You restrain the will. You regulate the appetites. You fence in the horizons. You make a law for every movement. You deny the existence of chaos. You teach even the children to breathe slowly. You tame.

dont worry about the scope and trigger, just shoot at the same target 5 times in a row, and if you dont have as tight of groups as you want, try some better (ie more expensive )ammo. im not an expert in the 22mag department, but i would hope there is some match grade ammo for your rifle....

dude, 50 yards with a 3x9.....and not even shooting the same spot every shot......thats pretty good, and Im kinda strict about accuracy.

you clearly feel the need to belittle new shooters. WTG

for what he was shooting, how he was shooting, and the scope he was using, it is good.

how about giving some pointers and sending him on his way? being 20 years old, you sure are an expert....

Whoah....Look out..We have the next NRA world champion here folks! Nothing like shooting a weapon with no recoil at paper targets and trying to belittle others over youre claimed expert like skills...

To the op..Good shootn! Have fun and enjoy that very neat weapon! Ive got an old savage/springfield .22 and love shooting that old piece of history.
