gsg flash hider , barrel cutting?

hey folks, Just wondering I am waiting my 10 days for the gsg to come home.



But been wanting to get a flash hider and cut the barrel, anyone try this and recommend anything?


How much of the accurracy would change?



example, someone on another forum I read somewhere said up to 15 yards was pretty accurate anything passed it, the bullet would go high left.




and another question, might be ignorance but is cutting the barrel down legal here in california?

There's a 26" minimum federal/state requirement for rifle length. So cutting down the barrel is a no go.

I wonder if I can buy a shorter barrel from gsg probably for their pistol version mp5s.

and swap it?

Why would you want to do something that will positively put you away in FEDERAL prision for a LONG time? It really sounds like you need to educate yourself a lot more before you handle firearms.

yeah I am learning as I am going, before I do anything thats why I am asking on the forums.

Saw a bunch of gsg non mock silencers so that is why I wanted to ask, I did not know about the 26" rifle law, I have been seeing 10/22 with 16" barrels everywhere in Cali so I did not know thought it was legal, sorry for my ignorance but like I said I am learning as I am going without taking and doing anything rash.

The barrel is 16.25 inches. If you cut it down, you will be in trouble with both CA and the Fed's.

State is 30" COLLAPSED - Federal is 26" EXTENDED

You could have the 16 inch barrel threaded 1/2 28 without cutting it down. Perfectly legal on your rimfire. I don't know what you would do with the fake suppressor though. What is the OD of the barrel?

That's for centerfire rifles. See below for rimfire rifle required lengths.
