OP tell your friends they need to do more research and reading. My Colt M4 22LR just gone through another 375 rounds of federal wally special which brings the round count to 3175 rounds, 2 FTF, no FTE or any other issues whatsoever. In fact I got two more people hooked at the range yesterday after letting them fired off 20 rounds each

With ammo prices climbing higher and higher, people are being priced out of larger calibers. I think the .22 tacticool boom is just starting. The evil-look and ammo-cost along with detachable mags are a winning combination.

I was shooting at a bench next to some guy with at tacticool .22 on Friday. I suddenly heard the staccato sound of .22 LR firing full auto. He fired a whole magazine full on full auto. Now that was cool. I don't know who he was or what he was shooting and I would not tell if I did know.

As long as the laws in California remain the same, people will be making their 22's look as black as possible.

It's not a California thing. It's a nation wide thing. Hell, it may be an international thing.

I don't see the reason for a Colt or S&W when you can build a real AR with a dedicated .22lr upper. I'm not sure if the Sig is different enough to justify the expense though. Personally, I like and respect .22lrs A LOT! I've got several tacticool shooters that are a blast to shoot and I won't be getting rid of mine anytime soon.

These rifles exist because people want a cheap to shoot alternative the AR, AK, MP5, etc. Yeah, my Colt/Walther is realiable, and accurate as hell and feels great when you hold it. I love shooting that thing. I just bought a GSG-5 and plan on buying the Sig 522 when it debuts. If I wanna shoot centerfire .223 I break out my Mini 14.

                    Tacticool on a Budget

I shoot the .22's more than anything else. Affordable, fun, and you can work on technique without breaking the bank. The higer powered toys are just as fun, but will break you with the cost of ammo today. I couldn't justify the expense of ANOTHER .22 toy, so I just converted an existing rifle into a Tacti-Poose.

I dont see many of these guns around so i figured i would start a photo thred.

Anyone can buy TactiCool - it's more fun making your own and having the only one around.

Since WASR 22 /AKT-98/RPK 22 are now collectors Items (No longer Imported) it's time for GSG to bring over the StG 44 and Saiga to release the Rimfire.

compared to GSG5 the 15-22 is not overpriced or heavy. but if your not getting it, that means more for us!!!

My super heavy GSG-5 SD was 'Jamomatic' too, its getting better with time and lube. I had to sling that mother so my GF can hold it up

but seriously the ammo price aside, I can not stand top feeding an AR. its just wrong! if you want a mag fed tactical rifle then it will be the 22.

I enjoy my GSG, I tried my friend 10/22 and it shoots great but I didn't care for the feel or look. GSG isn't that much more expensive than a 10/22 when all is said and done, I can blow the difference in price of the gun in one trip shooting my AR.

Building a real AR that shoots .22 is more justifiable than buying a replica. That way, you can just switch out the upper for a bigger one, if needed, and you don't have to get used to the rifle all over.

I can agree with that but it's also more expensive. But thats why I went with GSG-5 over having a fake AR. I already have the real thing so why buy a .22lr version? I don't however own an MP5 and have no plans to purchase one.

well..i had a gsg... i sold it, and now i'm almost done building a sick volk tuned 10/22 (barrel, trigger group, other parts).... the gsg was fine @ 25-50 yards, but I didnt feel a year from now with 5000 rounds through it that it would so well... I have no doubt my 10/22 will last the rest of my life with few parts here and there. depends what your goals are..this will hit 100 yards accurately.
