New Ruger 10/22 AR style (SR22)

I looked but didn't see any other posts on this-

I don't know if I'd pay the list $$ on this but it is interesting.

VERY interesting. My buddy just got a Remington 597 VTR that looks very similar to this. Yeah, $625 for a tricked out 10/22 might be tough to handle. I'm guessing it will have a street price below $500 though, putting it close to the 597VTR.

It says it is Not CA approved? What makes it different than the Colt Umarex, S&W M&P15-22, and Sig?

Where did it say Not CA approved ?

Only thing I saw was this

The Ruger SR-22 Rifle may not be available in all states and locales due to feature-based restrictions.
Please check with your local law enforcement agency prior to purchasing an SR-22 Rifle to verify that it may legally be purchased and/or possessed in your particular state and locale.

To me that's just a way of them covering their arse

Never mind, that is not the same rifle, it just looks very similar.

On the Ruger website under Specifications. You scroll down and it says Not CA approved, and Not MA approved. It comes with a 10 round magazine and it's a rimfire .22? I'm stumped.

How is this different from the Nordic Components conversion chassis?

Very cool. Odd that it doesn't come with any iron sight option?

I'm just surprised it took Ruger this long to figure out that there's a huge "tactic-cool" market!

Well, if you actually READ the page, you'll find that Ruger is having Nordic Components make the chasis for them and offering it in a factory config.

Probably ends up cheaper than buying a 10/22 and then a Nordic chassis.

I'm surprised no one has noticed though that it's a FACTORY 10/22 with a THREADED BARREL! That's pretty awesome!

Looks like it comes with the same muzzle brake flash hider thingy that the SR-556 comes with.

And if it's anything like the SR-556 they keep comparing it to, then it will actually come with a mil-spec buffer tube.

FYI, it doesn't matter if it's California-approved because California doesn't approve or disprove of rifles. That's probably just a boiler plate for handguns. Just because it's not California-approved doesn't mean that it's not California legal.

its cool.. but with a tapco t6 and a few other minor mods you can have the same fit and feel imo... for half that price...

There isn't a rifle in existence that is "CA approved" since CA has no rifle approval process or list.

Looks pretty sweet. Maybe I should pick one up instead of yet again disassembling my 2nd gen GSG-5 this week to fix the latest in a long string of problems...
