    Stock suggestions for GSG5

I want to replace the regular stock.

I don't care if I go collapsible or not I just want a well engineered, comfortable, and quality stock. Collapsible is a plus of course if there is a solid one out there. My GSG5 came with a catalog that has official parts for modifications.

    For example this collapsible stock.

    Or this Folding one

Vs Some airsoft stocks that may not be as nice but do the same thing such as these.

    or

I'm also wondering if I should just go with this one due to it being better quality?.

Anything else out there worth looking at?

i have both the retractable and folding stock from rrages. both are great quality. but the folding is way more solid. zero wobble. the folding is illgeal here in CA cause it falls short of the legal length by 1/2in.

I have the retractible version, bought it when I bought the rifle...fully extended it has some wobble to it. If you want to beef up your factory stock you can add some weight like penny's or washers then use a can of foam insulate in side the plastic stock.

Does the rule still apply if it's rimfire?

I was going to get retractable, but watched some YouTube reviews on the options...didn't want the wobble. I went with this folder for sturdiness. http://rrages.com/retract/folder/index.htm

In CA, OAL needs to be 26 inches or greater.

A folding stock on a GSG5 makes the OAL shorter than 26", which makes it an unregistered SBR in CA (felony).

I've questioned this before but what's the overall length of the GSG-5 as they come in the factory box with the detached stock? If it's less than 26" then isn't it considered an AW or constructively a pistol with a detachable magazine??

I know most of the shops sell them fully assembled but how about those buying them on the GB and get them shipped in? Are you then required to attach the stock before they allow you to take possession of it or do you just walk out as is in the factory box with an AW?

I just bought a real HK Mp5 stock (A2 style) for $25. It will just need a bit of filing but these are as solid as you can get. RRages sells them brand new with a HK forearm for about $130.

I dont get why you would get the real HK stock, the GSG rifle seems heavy enough as it is and the HK stock which would add more wight looks exactly the same. could you just fill it with foam to get the same feel?

The retractable stock from GSG seems like the better option between the after market legal stocks. based on the video comparison on youtube. The GSG stock seemed more solid when fully retracted and better suited for the GSG-5. The Classic Army has better consutruction (more metal) but wobbles a bit more and it doesn't sit tight on the receiver when fully pushed in.

Can anyone who owns either of the stocks confirm this???

It's intended to be fired from the shoulder, factory tests fires them with the stock on, so it's a rifle.
It is not safe to fire the GSG5 rifle without a stock on.

OAL under 26" = SBR, not an AW.

Even though the shoulder stock is packaged not attached to the reciever when being shipped, it does not make it a SBR.
It's fine, since you are suppose to attach the shoulder stock in order to fire the rifle.

I just put the M4 style stock on mine, very solid feel to it and, since I have long arms, the LOP is much better than the orginal. You might want to look into one of those. I bought mine off Amazon.com. $84.00 and change.

Well I dont want crap construction or wobble like problems and I guess the folder is out as I want to stay legal.

So it's between the HK stock and filling the factory one with foam? Has anyone actualy tried this?

The M4 stock is certainly an option! But where can I find a pic of it installed? I have the Gen2 so I dont want it to look goofy.

i installed my classic army collapsible stock on my gsg-5 today (from my air soft gun) and fully extended it wobbles about 1" up/down. Maybe 1/2" when half way collapsed (worthless position). Same clearance on the airsoft.

the factory stock felt really nice and sturdy to me, and it actually looks great on the airsoft as well (SBR style)....

I'm gonna look closer to see if i cant make something with a tighter fit.
