Ruger Super Wrangler

It most likely will. Ruger will shrink the Single Six lineup and/or make Single Nine Convertibles as an upgrade to the Wrangler.
Can't make two cars too similar with the only difference being the price.
Stainless Steel/Blued finish, higher quality build, and barrel length choices is not enough to get people to pay 2x more for almost the same thing. Making it nine-shots, however, might.NRA Pistol/Rifle Instructor

Always looking for vintage Winchester and Marlin lever action rifles. Looking to sell? Know of one for sale? Drop me a line!

And that's why I don't think the Wrangler (or Super Wrangler) is going to be taking much market from the Single Six.
You don't buy a new Single Six because you want a cheap plinker, you buy it because you want a nice .22.
You don't buy a Wrangler because you want a nice .22, you buy it because you want a cheap plinker from a good and trusted manufacturer.
The people wanting cheap .22 plinkers who can't get Ruger Wranglers buy Heritage Rough Riders, not Ruger Single Sixes.
Either way this is exciting, I'm going to have to tell my buddy about this!Calguns.net, where everyone responding to your post is a Navy Force Delta Recon 6 Sniperator.Comment

Very true. My 47 year old Super Single Six Convertible I bought new in 1976 (for $87.00) still looks and shoots like the day I bought it. It will outlast my kids and grand kids.

I had a standard Wrangler one time..Not real impressed, but it is much better than a Rough Rider by quite a bit, The Heritage I had was just cheap feeling and did I say cheaply built..The Ruger SS is heads above them both in my opinion..Cannot comment on the new wrangler..Never seen one..But I would guess the quality has not increased, just the asthetics.Comment

Well, I expect people will call me "cheap", which seems to be the standard response on CalGuns nowadays, but... I think Ruger killed the Single Six line themselves when some marketing genius suddenly decided the Single-Six was an $800 handgun. [And it doesn't even come with wood grips anymore.] I'm referring to the 6.5" blued convertible model in particular (0622), since that is what I have.
There's an old saying (actually, I just made it up, so if it really is an old saying then it's purely by coincidence): If you allow yourself to be gouged, then you will be gouged.
On the contrary, that is exactly why I bought mine. Maybe not as a plinker, per se, but to use as a trainer to teach new shooters. Can't get much simpler, safer, and unintimidating than a .22 SA revolver for new shooters. You're partially correct, though. I did select the Single-Six over other models available at the time because I wanted better quality, so I paid a little more for it. But back then "a little" really meant a little, not 3x the price.

To be certain, some people want .22s and buy everything they can. I'm just saying, the Single Six and the Wrangler are only comparable in that they are both single action .22 revolvers, but one is certainly a better example of such than the other. Both guns are functional, and I'd be happy with either; but I'm happier with a Single Six convertible.
But now I want a Wrangler too!Calguns.net, where everyone responding to your post is a Navy Force Delta Recon 6 Sniperator.Comment

I hope the Super Wrangler is more accurate and precise than the Wrangler. The Wrangler is terrible in that regard."Show me a young conservative and I'll show you a man without a heart. Show me an old liberal and I'll show you a man without a brain." - Sir Winston Churchill
