    NOS clone or Browning?

I found some NOS Interarms (Norinco) clones of the Browning SA-22. Everyone is out of the Browning right now. I've seen the Browning's as low as $699. These NOS clones are starting at $475.

Should I go for the NOS clone or wait for the Browning's to come back in stock?

Though I would rather have a Remington 24 or 241, but I doubt that I'd find either one of those for less than $700.

    Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

My LGS (Gunther Guns in Carlsbad, Ca.) has a Browning on the rack. Give them a call, they're good peeps.

The Chinese SA-22 is NOWHERE near as nice as the Browning---$475. is a ridiculous price price for a Chinese copy with many known QC potential problems! Wait for the Browning---a lifetime investment that will go up in value!

Ya, wait to save a little more for the real deal.
There are a few on Gun Broker now as you’ve probably already seen. New $699.
A few nice ones trumps a boatload of crappy ones. Just sayin’.
You made me look at the older Japanese models…..darn you!

I have the money, it's trying to wait for the right rifle. I did see a 24 at a good price. If it works out, I may get that one and a new SA.

Then you just answered your own question. Go to GunBroker and pick up an old, gently used Browning. They are always available.

It depends on what the difference in time makes. There is the buy once cry once thing but people cry at funerals. **** happens.

Enjoy what you can while you can because it's only good while you're getting it. If the clone is inexpensive enough, why not grab one and still get the Browning when it's available?

People who think they have all the time in the world will often tell others to wait. It's like Social Security, wait as long as the government wants you to wait and your returns are next to nothing.

John Browning is not holding a Norinco in this photo:

I've had a Miroku SA-22 for about 12 years, one of the finest rifles I own. I would recommend going with an earlier Belgian or later Miroku genuine Browning.

Not into clone stuff at all..I would advise you buy the real thing..A lot of nice used ones out there too..Foolish to spend money on a very sun par clone..Even if you have to pay double or more for the real thing..You will be far ahead in the long run..

Yeah, I'm not going to get the clone. I've got a couple of things working. I'll post it when something happens.

Your just a bad influence Dan...bad bad man.

                        I still haven't shot my maple SA-22.

Bad in a good way though. It is a crime to buy a new rifle and not shoot it and report here. You will be addicted to this legendary rifle, I will guarantee it.

I bought a Norinco SA-22 in 1995 for $99 at B&E in Cypress. It has worked very well, but the fit and finish does not compare to a Browning. In my mind it is a $275 rifle. I own 5 of the Browning ones and they are much better finished and polished. I do like plinking with it and it is a good gun to take to the field and not worry about getting a scratch on it, but at that price it is ridiculous.

Buy a nice used Browning for $650. If you try to sell your Norinco you won't get back your money.

I bought a very nice 1975 year Belgium Browning at LGS $500 out the door . stock had repair at the wrist . When taking these apart grip the receiver not the wood . The rear stock is $300 . When B&B was in business in the 90s the China version was $99.
