    Review m&p15.22 lr please........

I'm looking to purchase a smith and wesson m&p 15.22 lr and it's not out in nor cal yet so I want to know some pros and cons about this rifle? I'm actually trading or selling my glock34 9mm for it because ammo is just too expensive for paper so I'm down grading since I have a sw model 28-2 6" beautiful .357 in great condition w/ original diamond grips but I got hoguess
on it + 45.70 marlin...... that ammo only comes out for boar. So I just want a nice .22long rifle but inexpensive so if you have advice or ideas I would like to hear thanks...

AFAIK, the S&W M&P-15/22 has yet to be released.

it is released, but no stock available.... so either it was a limited # release for now or they didn't think that many ppl would buy it and didn't make enough.

Its probably gonna be a little longer for California buyers, no 10 round magazine.

I would take the S&W any day over the colt.

I read on ARFCOM that Tom over at Spikes tactical had a chance to look at both of these rifles and take them apart. Based on what he saw he recommended the S&W over the Colt and thought it to be a better rifle.

If you want a nice .22 rifle then stick with a 10/22 or a actual AR build with a .22 upper from Spikes. These newer .22's are simply pot metal and plastic that are appealing as a fad. For longivity and reliability I guarantee the 10/22 and the AR will be around for quite some time.

                        Caliber: .22LR
                        Capacity: 10 Rounds
                        Action: Blow Back Semi-Auto
                        Overall Length: 33.75"
                        Stock: Fixed Position
                        Sight Radius: 15.5"
                        Barrel Length: 16"
                        Barrel Twist: 1 in 16"
                        Weight (No Mag.): 5.5 lbs.
                        Trigger Pull: 7 lbs. (approx.)
                        Upper and Lower Material: Polymer

                        Finish: Matte Black
                        Front Sight: Adj. A2 Post
                        Rear Sight: Adj. Dual Aperture

They should be less expensive then the Uramex.
Having seen Dealer cost on these, they are priced very well.

Plastic Recievers for me are of really no concern. I have a Professional Ordnance with the Carbon recievers, which really feel more like plastic. I wouldnt assume a cheap feel with this rifle. Accuracy as relative to the Uramex would be more my concern.
                        Suggested list $499.00.

They do show the 10rd model that will be available along with a Hi-Cap model.

The compliant model (CT, MA, MD, NJ and NY) has a fixed stock and no mention of Calif? I heard the SIG 522 is out but once again no 10 mags means no shipping to Calif
