Factory New Ruger Single Six Scratch/Nick

Just bought a factory new in box Ruger Single Six Convertible. Everything on the firearm is flawless except for the scratch/ nick on the stainless steel. Wondering if its normal or if I should contact Ruger to get it addressed. Check out the pics and let me know what you all think?

    I would send it back.

I had the same problem (twice) with a brand new S&W Model 41.

It's not like they can pull that out or fill it.

Its gonna be on you brother

If it were me, I'd probably forget about it.

Can't hurt calling CS. They could replace the barrel. In before the pile on.

I don't care about scratches, but that's a ding. It can't be polished out even from stainless. I'd be unhappy with it and give them a call.

            That's more than a scratch.
            I'd be ticked.

              I wouldn’t care but that’s just me.

Question: If it bothers you, why did you buy it in the first place?

I've already contacted Ruger. Will see what happens. Worst case scenario I guess I can live with it. Everything is flawless on the revolver except for that ding.

Ruger is outstanding for their customer service. I do wonder how it made it through final inspection like that, though.

I agree wholeheartedly about the quality of Ruger CS! I had an issue with my Single Six. I called them. They arranged for UPS to pick up my gun. They fixed it and sent it back in ten days, at no cost.

I was thinking the same thing: How did that get missed?

The OP's unfortunate issue is a good lesson for us. I know we get all giddy when we buy a new gun, and may be less than thorough when we inspect it, but we must take the time to really check it out before taking it home.

I hope the issue gets resolved quickly, OP. Please keep us updated.

Pretty hard to put that on Ruger. You inspected it, bought it, waited your ten+ days, inspected it again then took it home.

I should have inspected it throughly. Got too excited during the Dros time. Assuming the firearm would be flawless being factory new in the box. I will keep you guys updated on what happens. Thanks for all the responses
