      I agree.
At last count, I have just over forty 22LR chambered guns.
My very first was a Ruger 10/22.
      I still have it.

I bought my son his first rifle last Christmas and it's a helluva lot a fun to shoot. The Rossi Rio Bravo.

          UPDATE:

I ended up buying a CZ 457 American. It’s on its way to the FFL right now and hope to start the paperwork next week sometime.

Seems like a really nice rifle for small game, plinking at the range, and is something I won’t mind holding onto for a long time. Now just have to find a cheap, but decent scope and rings for it!

Thanks to everyone who chimed in and offered advice.

              UPDATE:

I ended up buying a CZ 457 American. I would say it’s “cheap” but I decided it made sense to spend a little more for something that’s quality and will be great out of the box, won’t have to mess with replacing cheap parts, upgrades, etc. It’s on its way to the FFL right now and hope to start the paperwork next week sometime.

Nice little rifles, used to be inexpensive to pick up. I had one, but sold it many years ago.
Always looking for vintage Winchester and Marlin lever action rifles. Looking to sell? Know of one for sale? Drop me a line!

How cheap a scope are you looking for? The primary arms fixed 6x for rimfires is the best cheap scope I've personally tried. I like the Leupold 4x a bit better, but almost 3x the price. I also have the rimfire Leupold 3x9 (again not exactly cheap) which is super nice, but not nearly as handy as the other choices (although still less than most of my center-fire rifles are sporting).

Probably $200-$300. Have to do a lot more research. Took me a while to decide on the rifle, now have to decide on a scope and rings!

I'm partial to the Marlin 60 and the 795. They are tack drivers right out if the box. I put a Boyd's stock on my wife's 795 and a Nikon Rimfire scope and it is likely the most accurate gun in my safe. I really wish Nikon was still making scopes, best $120 I ever spent on glass.

If you're going to be out at Livermore one of these days, happy to let you look through the above mentioned leupolds in that price range. I'm there about every other week on Friday or Saturday morning.

So you bought 2 457s. Nice choice and enjoy your new pee shooter.

You may want to check SWFA "Samples" listing for scopes. A grab bag of availability, but what they describe re condition is always right on.
