I like having the .22 Magnum cylinder as a bit of variety. I have shot maybe 5% of the rounds out of this gun with .22 Magnum (maybe less). But I recently took advantage of sales on .22 Magnum ammo and have 1,000 rounds or so. So the .22 Magnum cylinder is getting used a lot more. Plus, I just bought a Ruger LCRx in .22 Magnum (adjustable sights, 3" barrel). I use this one around the farm for critters that need a bit more wheaties than .22 LR.

Well you are not really paying a whole lot for a 190.00 Revolver. You are not going to get Single Six quality in a budget Revolver. I am going to buy one when the used ones start showing up at the shows. Right now locally the best price I can find is right at 190.00..When I can pick up a lightly used one in the 150.00 range I will buy one. May be a year or so. But I can wait.

The two are not really comparable and were not meant to be.. One is a budget Revolver. The other is not. Kinda like comparing a 1969 Corvette to a VW Bug.

Seems odd to have a $40 breaking point. Don't know what the deal is in NE, but here you'd eat that up just with the PPT transfer fee.

Of course non of the nonsense here you guys have to put up with out there. I can walk in the store and take one home in 10 minutes. No extra fees here except sales tax and fill out the 5 minute normal paperwork. We have what they call a handgun purchase permit, Costs 5.00 for three years, That avoids any call in to the ATF at all too.. If I buy from a private Individual be it at a show or off a local ad, I just hand him the cash and we part ways. No Paperwork or tax involved at all.. Perfectly legal that way.

My Brother still lives in CA and he obtained an FFL to avoid all that crap. I think he said he can even get off roster Firearms too for himself, but cannot resell them to Individuals in CA, only other FFL holders in State. He can resell them out of CA though.

OP, I have a Harrington & Richardson model 929 from around 1975. The made one hec of a gun for the money and they're still pretty easy to find. Just something else you might consider..

Not a 929 but still nice

                    Single Six is old Ruger
Wrangler is new Ruger run by bean counters to maximize profit on every product. They built this because too many people wanted $150 plinkers. First clue is weight - materials cost money saving 6oz of metal on 100,000 guns adds up to a good savings. They use a lot of moulded metal parts cutting down on machine work so more savings. They paint rather than anodize more savings. They now build on an assembly line rather than an employee taking pride in building a gun they reward you for sticking in more of the springs your assigned to install during your shift. QC has gone out the window. Enjoy your Wrangler - - - while it lasts

I had a hard time making tight groups with a Wrangler. The gun might be able to do better clamped in a vise but my eyes couldn't make a consistent sight picture.

They are both covered by Rugers customer service. None better in the industry.

Relax and shoot them to destruction. Send them back in, lather, rinse, repeat.

I must admit that when the cylinder on my 454 got a little squidgy my trousers were in danger. Ruger made it right.

Fair at best. For me, half dollar at 15 paces if I take my time. There’s a lot of daylight so there’s a large human factor. Nothing like my buck mark and I presume a single six with adjustable sights. SS comes multiple ways.

The round rear sight would take me some time to get used to it.
The rear sight looks similar to a Bobcat 21A that I had and I shot horrible groups with it. Short sight radius also had something to do with it also.

Prolly my hardest thing is seeing the front sight. Some orange paint might help.

I had mine out yesterday and half dollar at 15 paces was still about my capability. If my eyes were younger I could likely beat that.

This is not a high grade Target pistol for competition shooting people,LOL. It is in my opinion for plinking soda cans for fun...I am kinda confounded what people are expecting here. If it does fall apart. As said, I am sure Ruger will take care of it.

I will buy one eventually and sure not going to complain if it will not shoot 1 hole groups on paper. I am a Marlin guy first and foremost. But I think the Ruger will be fine. Marlin has not made a Revolver since the 1800s. Or I would have one of them.

The sights to me look no worse than any of my Old Colt or Remington Revolvers. That is just the nature of the Single Action Revolver design of the past. They actually look exactly like them>LOL

Comparing the Wrangler and the Single Six is silly. It's like comparing a Corolla with a Lexus.
