Going in to pre-order one from Turners today. Can't decide on the color.

Ended up going with black. If the cylinders were the same color as the frame I would have considered burnt bronze or silver.

Mine came out to $193.XX after tax, will have to pay $30 for dros once it comes in. They wouldn't let me pay the dros ahead of time.

I like the bronze when I saw them but can't get over the different color cylinder. Might just get the black version.

The few single sixes I owned all gummed up pretty quick. More time cleaning than shooting!

I saw a Wrangler video review in which the reviewer said he had asked a Ruger representative about using the 22 mag. The rep said that based upon the frame material, it was a not recommended.

Saw the lighter frame and thought I'd probably not try using the magnum cylinder. Ruger probably has a good reason to only release it with the .22 LR cylinder.

Just passing along what Jeff Quinn did... I'm sure if you check one out and the frame is made of Zamak 5 it is pretty obvious. Jeff must like to live dangerously. I'd side with Ruger recommendations too, but I haven't even seen one in person. Undecided so far... want one of course. Already have Ruger .22 revolver.

You'd think if a Heritage Rough Rider can handle 22mag, Ruger's new Wrangler probably should too.

Only the grip frame is made of Zamak. The cylinder frame is made of aluminum alloy. 22 Long rifle and 22 Winchester Magnum rimfire both operate at the same pressure (24,000psi).

I wonder if that is due to ammo quality. I've never had that happen to me and my 43 year old Super Single Six and that has included several all-day shooting sessions (mostly Winchester or Federal ammo).

Yep, they are Zamak too, including the cylinder frame. I bet Ruger’s aluminum frame is stronger. But I’ve never ran the 22mag cylinder in my Heritage and probably wont.

I've put several boxes of 22WMR of different brands and bullet weights thru this Heritage and it hasn't blown up yet. I enjoy the extra punch of the magnum ammo.
