Got a 795 bore cleaning question to throw out there. I usually just bore snake it. Anyone use a rod with a Nylon brush or have any hesitations?

The manual says just use a patch with cleaner, then run one through with oil. Mine seems to need need a good cleaning but I don't want to get overzealous and ruin the great precision the "miro-grooved" barrel has given me so far.

Precision seems to have dropped off some so I am hoping a good cleaning is the remedy.

If you really wanted, you could get your 795 barrel threaded and add a faux-suppressor on it but it would be for looks alone and not worth it. BamBam-31 has a faux-suppressor on his .22lr AR15, and it looks cool, but does nothing practical.

The worthwhile upgrades to a Marlin 795 would be improved sights or a good mount and optic. And just enjoy it for what it is, an inexpensive, reliable, fairly precise plinker.
Booo.... figured as much. Lol. My friend lives in Texas so of course he has no issues with that.

Mine is the same way. The first picture is normal wear and as far as the bolt goes, mine came like that. Only the side of the bolt that shows got polished. The other surfaces (hidden until you take the rifle down) all show tooling marks. I didn't mind because the price is so low, and I wasn't expecting Old World Craftsmanship.

Question, Is this normal wear of the 795? Ive put less than 750 rounds, clean it each time i get back from the range.

    This side is smooth

But the other side is kinda rough

"Tacticool" is a reason. I don't have to agree, it's your rifle so if it makes you happy then roll on!

If you do get one set up please share a photo with us. I always enjoy seeing some "Tacticool" even if I wouldn't do it myself!

So excited! I have a bunch of ammo, a case will be arriving (funny, my friend on fb also recommended a supressor - but the website he gave me I don't know which one would work www.gem-tech.com)

For a 795? For any gun? Why? I don't get the purpose...

No, no, the vid is of the Ultimate Cliploader for Ruger and Buckmark rimfire pistol magazines. IIRC, there was a guy that said it worked for his .22lr pistol as well (not Ruger or Buckmark), but I can't remember the make.

The baby Uplula I recall Beetle Bailey mentioning, so I just Googled it. Did not know it's release was delayed. It's too bad, as the 795 mags do indeed have sharp lips that make loading it a bit of a pain.

Free. It came w/ a rifle I traded for.

ETA: It's an older scope, but it still works. Looks like it's a Tasco World Class 3-9x. Should be comparable to the $50 rimfire scopes you'll find at Wally World.

If you want a better scope, however, I'd take a hard look at the Mueller APV 4.5-14x for about $125. That's what I have on mine.
