Just gotta wait 11 days to get it

Congrats 50 cal, I've had a ruger 10/22 and i recently bought a 795. I was really impressed with the marlin and would recommend it to anyone looking for an inexpensive. 22 thats accurate without adding any aftermarket parts, especially if its their first rifle.Comment

Are they on sale at all stores? And do these come with sling swivels or anything like that? Or even just the swivel studs?sigpic

The bullets with my name on it I'm not worried about, it's the "To whom it may concern" ones I'm worried about.Comment

Thanks man. A couple of my friends who own bigger guns like Mosin-Nagants and 9mm's got interested after I told them about the Marlin and are thinking about getting one.
Went to the one in Irvine (Orange County). Got the last one they had in stock.
The guy said that the lock that came with the gun actually isn't CA compliant, which is funny because he even said the lock that comes with it is stronger and sturdier and safer than the compliant one they sold for $10

I'm pretty damn sure that that is incorrect, given that both new Marlins we just bought came with factory cable locks that both my FFL guy and Turners signed off on.Comment

I signed up to be a member here at Calguns.net just to be able o get different points of view on things. But excuse me for saying this. I don't intend to tick anyone off or cause any problems. I love coming to Cali to vacation from time to time. I have relatives that live in SoCal.
But after reading and reading about the hoops that you people have to jump through to be able to exercise your 2nd amendment rights it just kills me. I do so feel for you and the uphill battle you have to go through everyday. I do wish you all success in getting rid of the liberal representation that "works for you" in Sacramento because I am not sure that my stomach can take much more of the stuff they have done to you.
The lock that came with my 795 is built like a tank. Thick 1/4" steel formed around the receiver that blocks access to the mag well and the ejection port and locks with a Master Lock. padlock. I can't even imagine what a California approved lock looks like!
I do live in Arizona and have no plans to ever relocate to SoCal(I know it just breaks your hearts that I am not coming over... LOL). I like having Arizona's constitutional carry law(Don't have to have concealed permit to carry concealed and open carry has always been legal here). I do have a CCW permit and it does a few extra things for me here. When I buy a gun from a dealer/FFL I do fill out a 4473 but then I walk out the door with my gun in hand, no NICS check is required, no 11 days waiting period no extra fees for the extra paperwork. Things aren't perfect here either, but dang folks, isn't enough enough?Comment

I'm calling BS on the fact that the lock it came with wasn't good enough. I'm not saying the member who posted this is wrong, I'm mad at the people from the store. As I understand it, most guns ship with locks. I've heard of shops that take these off and then "resell" them to the paying customer.
I've never seen a lock that wasn't CA approved.sigpic
