That looks like the correct marlin part # and that is a pretty good price.

    Good Luck!

So no one is into the chipmunk /squirrel "animal crackers" stock as a mod?
      Way cool, for kids.
I will be looking for some, soon, for my brand new grand-kids that will need them in about 5-10 years.
Stocking up on LR WW, CCI, Rem, Fed. ammo bricks, too, for the sweet little gals.
4th Generation Californians that will know how to shoot!
Well, I just remembered, the parents bailed out to Oregon. But it is close to California!
      So I say it counts.
The newer generations are just regrouping, out of range; a solid offense in the future, I'd bet. They will be back.
      They will be back!!!!

I got my weaver (crap) rings on there pretty tight tonight, with my new(to me) 6-18x50 bushnell banner that I picked up though CG.

HOPEFULLY this weekend I'll get out to the range for a bit. If they hold then they hold, if not then I'll look into either BKL or the GAMO ones. 55+shipping sounds a bit much for rings though, That's 1/3 of the rifle already. I think I'll try the gamo mount, if it doesn't hold, then I will have to spring for the BKL ones.

I'm spending way to much on this rifle that I bought so I wouldn't start buying a bunch of stuff, like I would have for the 10/22!

I'm thinking about putting a mock suppressor on the front and have the front sight screw somehow hold it in....or maybe I'm just getting carried away.

Try a little blue loctite where the rings grab the dovetail. That should help. I did that with my Weaver rings before buying the BKL's. It held the smaller 4x Simmons scope fairly well, but I wanted something bulletproof to hold the beefier Mueller APV scope I replaced it with. The BKL was the answer for me. Yes, $55 is a bit pricey when compared to the rifle's cost (what isn't?), but it's a pretty reasonable price for a top notch rings/mount combo overall. I KNOW mine won't be creeping, ever.

Shot mine yesterday for the first time. The stock sights are terrible, but even then the rifle is very accurate! Mine didn't like Federal American Eagles, but it did well with another Federal Bulk pack I got from Wal-Mart. Happy with this one!

I've only shot cci mini's and winchester 555's...both shoot. Winchesters are dirty, cci not so much. I try to pick up cci when it's available, I think it's the best ammo for a 'cheap' ammo.

I went and bought one today, based on all the positive comments in this thread. On sale at Big 5 this week and I got the rebate form. Now if only I could find some more .22LR ammo...

By the way, I have other guns but this will be my first .22! I just used to shoot my friends' .22 rifles, now I will have one to call my own.

Do a site search for 22 LR ammo and you'll find threads that refer to Internet sales links or private sales by other Calgunners.

Got out to Mormon Emigrant Trail today and did some plinking. 140 rounds of CCI Mini-Mags and zero hiccups with the rifle. Very satisfied on that part. The only problem is the rear sight of my Tech Sights started walking. I didn't have a reliable way to sight in because I'm still a bad shot and there were no good supports around, but out of the box the sights were pretty close (close enough to hit a can most of the time at about 30 yards). Mainly I was glad I got to actually put rounds through it.

I'm really bored, and came up with the idea of putting a muzzle brake in place of the sight.

My idea would be to use the sight screw to hold the brake in place, but I know of nobody who makes a muzzle brake like this, or ANY for the 795.

There are also other muzzle brakes for the stock ruger 10/22, that fit with a setscrew on the bottom, and around the front sight. Does anybody know if the diameters of both barrels are the same?

Maybe I could just buy a brake, drill out the top and put the set screw through that holding the brake on.

                          Something like this...
