Does anybody know if the Bass Pro in Manteca sells 795's and for how much? I've tried calling them, but their hunting department never answers the phone. I'd prefer Bass Pro because I happen to have a gift card from them.

If not Bass, anyone know of a sporting goods store or gun shop in the Bay Area that sells 795's at a good price? Thanks in advance.

You need to keep trying on Bass Pro as eventually they'll answer. It took me 8 calls over 1 hour to get someone to finally look something up for me. I know that Ammo Bros had a sale on 10/22s for $199 when I was there on Saturday. Turner's has it for $139 until Thursday. I've been considering getting another one of each!

BassPro does carry the 795 but I'm not sure of the price. Seems to me it was about $159, but I can't swear to that. Dick's Sporting Goods in Modesto has it for $139 everyday pricing. At least that was the everyday pricing before the New Year. Haven't been there recently.

BassPro lists the 795 for $159 on their website.

Thanks everyone for the responses. I finally got through to the Bass Pro Hunting Department after like 4 calls at different times throughout the day. I swear you should never try to call when they first open or around lunch time.

We sell top brand guns with the best price at Gallery of Guns.

I don't rely on it exclusively but it gives me a few more buying options.

Big 5, Sportsmans Warehouse and Cabelas almost always have them in stock. The only time I haven't seen them is after Black Friday or anytime Marlin offers the rebates and you can get them for $99.00. You just can't beat a hundred dollar rifle that is this much fun to shoot.

I've got 2 795's, one for each son, and we have put about 2000 rounds through each one without a single FTF or FTE. The only problem we ran into was with my oldest son's rifle on our first time to the range. After about 300 rounds the trigger wouldn't reset. I remembered, then, that I hadn't stripped the gun at home to clean all the manufacturer's thick cruddy grease out of it. I took about 10-15 minutes at the range to field strip and clean everything out and haven't had any trouble since. I feel that the trick to avoiding FTF and FTEs is just to keep them clean. I've also got a 10/22 that I have never had any problems with. (Over 5000 rounds). I'm just a stickler for keeping my firearms clean.

speaking of rebates, anyone know if marlin will be having a new one for 2012?
