I just realized, I said that ^^^ backwards...or upside down...or just wrong...
1) The Safety goes in the housing
2) The Detent goes in the hole on top, riding on top of the safety
3) The Spring goes on top of the Detent
4) The Pin goes over top of the Spring
Better?

I kinda want to redo that pictorial now, it could be so much better. Ha! Good luck retired, don't drop thesoapspring this time!Stand up and be counted, or lay down and be mounted... -Mac

I wish I had seen the correction before I put it back together the first way you said. When I fired the gun, the trigger guard broke in about 4 places, it cracked the receiver and damaged the barrel. I guess I should have gone with the complete metal one after all. Now I have to buy a new gun because I followed your incorrect directions.I just realized, I said that ^^^ backwards...or upside down...or just wrong...

Joking. I put it together the correct way before your redo and my grandson shot it Friday with no problem.
Thanks for your help. BTW, I spent 4yrs. working in the largest jail in the country as a deputy and 4 more years later as a sgt.; you never want to drop the soap.
Thank you again everyone for your help, I really appreciate it. I apologize for taking so long to get back here to advise that it worked but didn't get a chance to shoot it until Friday.

After almost 30yrs. in LE, you have to have one or you'll pull your hair out. There are a lot of really stupid people out there doing some really stupid things. A lot of SMH occurred over the years mixed in with humor, much of it gallows type to keep my sanity. Gallows humor is common to LE, Fire, and morgue work, the latter making ours a distant third their depths.
