Nice collection! Thanks for posting. The Apache Black was my first gun.
Got it in 1968 when I worked at a small gun shop in Laurel Maryland.
1968-1971. Was my work study job in my senior year of high school.
    Can't picture that happening today.

The Magazine fed Nylons are the Nylon 77, Apache 77 (with a green stock and black forearm diamond - not the Seneca Green) and the 10C. The later Apache 77s were made for K-Mart from 1987-1989 and had the parkerized receivers and green stocks. Some of the Apache 77s had scopes included and shown on the remington label on the OEM packaging. Sadly I do not have any OEM packaging, but have seen photos.
Thanks for that info, then I was probably looking at the Apache 77 variant made for Kmart with the parked receiver. If I get back over to the LGS I'll try to get a better look at the scope if it's still there.

          I have a love/hate relationship with them

The nylon is horrid. Great guns though.

They are fairly valuable according to what I've seen going on gunbroker and parts on ebay. A N76 stock just sold for $450 on the 'bay.

Remington stopped making the stocks a long time ago, so they are kind of hard to find now.

Yes there is quite a collector value to them, the entire "nylon line" and I always recommend getting a replacement cocking handle or 2 when you can as they seem to be a weak point of the design and snap off.

I'd love to have the lever action version, don't even care if it's purple! Well maybe that would be pushing it a little The entire line is very interesting.

Cabela's Reno frequently had one or two Mohawk Brown 66's on the used racks but in the $300 range with pitted receivers, or missing front sights.

Cabela's here in ABQ, NM has very little in interesting used firearms, and there are no special deals in pricing from what I've seen anywhere around town.

Their trigger and trigger reset are superb IMO.

They are tube magazine fed and Remington developed a usable (but not super good) magazine system IMO, the Nylon 77, 10C and Apache 77s have magazines.

My 66 has the detachable mags. It's always worked well for me.
I also just bought three new mags about two years ago. No issues.

Probably hit and miss with function, I had a10C and it was a jamomatic with all the mags I had for it. The Black FIE Nylon 66 clone (Kmart??) was tube fed but jammed a lot also. My Mohawk 66 tube fed eats everything but flat nosed hollow points.
Sold the 10C and the FIE Clone. Always looking for other Nylon variants. Have never seen any leer action or bolt actions in my searches of LGS's.

The Mohawk brown is the earliest rifle I can remember, I was 9 and my older brother in high school in Watsonville had a buddy next door (a mile away) that was a veterinarians kid, he showed up one day with the "new rifle (1959) and box or two of ammo so they went to the back side of our 20 acres up on Mt. Madonna and did some shooting, of course I was "too young" to participate according to them.

Brownells has replacements available for $5.

I really like Cabela's, but the Dundee MI one would not work/sell to 03FFL (C&R) holders so that is sad...

The purple or white stocked (or other reported colored stock salesman) versions would be awesome to find-get!

Cabelas Reno honors C&R FFLs but have to verify with ATF so if you are not on file with them already and wandering into Reno you have to have them verify it before 12 noon PST. 60% of Cableas Reno Firearms business is from Calif, they have quite a few C&R's and used item and will ship into Calif to an 01 FFL.

I can not (admittedly don't own one) but can not see any advantage over the Ruger 10-22.

Ruger 10-22s are very 'Murican and allow a vast amount of user customizations, and I concur that if you are into rimfire firearms, that you need to have at least one 10-22. I really love the Magpul takedown version

But do you realize the Nylon was the first production (1958) polymer (nylon 6-6 aka DuPont Zytel) "framed", "striker fired" (albeit a striker block - not a firing pin/striker) with internal components held in place with cross-pins? They actually have a breech bolt with contained firing pin (and a tiny firing pin return spring) that the striker hits to fire the rim.

Me thinks Gaston may have gotten some ideas from this innovative rifle. Hence the coolness factor for me.
