While I really like the Nikon Prostaff Rimfire, it didn't work well on my Appleseed 10/22 Takedown rifle. The problems were:
I switched to an AIM 2-7x40 "scout" scope mounted on the barrel rather than on the receiver. It made a dramatic improvement. All of the zeroing problems have gone away, it has a wide range of eye relief for all positions, and it fits the bag. The 1022TD mount from Amega was expensive ($120) but the scope was cheap ($50). It is a surprisingly good scope for the price.
My 10/22 TD *finally* shoots like it is supposed to. Now it is time to get the rifleman up to par.

- When used with a tensioned sling, the takedown joint flexes and throws the zero off. (even when fully tightened)
- The range of eye relief barely encompasses both prone and standing positions.
- I had to remove the scope to store it in the bag.
