I like the rest here, I majorly advocate getting a single six, my uncle used a Buckmark, Mark II and a Single Six to teach me shooting fundamentals and I absolutely loved that out of the three since I grew up watching John Wayne and Clint Eastwood westerns with my grandpa. I ended up buying a Single-10 and that was an awesome revolver as well.

    Get it and have fun!

Have the same year as Bergman does. Love that gun. Lots of fun to shoot. Used to shoot 50 yard pistol with the magnum cylinder.

my 8 shot 22wmr ruger single six is my most accurate handgun by far. it needed $25 of gunsmithing and 100 rounds to smooth it out initially. it went into a ss that i found cheap on gb.com because it lacked the oem wmr cylinder. the only problem is that ruger single action revolvers are highly addictive in all flavors.

I just ordered a new Ruger GP-100, 10 shot .22 L.R. revolver. I have a Stainless Single Six, and I love it. This will make a nice companion gun to it. These guns have been rather hard to come by, and Davidson's got 8 of them in this past Sunday, so I immediately ordered one through my local dealer. The remaining 7 were gone in just a few hours. They are again "Out Of Stock". Hopefully I'll be getting it in just a few days.

I have the one that was my Dad's. He passed almost 40 years ago and every time I hold it I think of him and how much we enjoyed shooting together.

So I jailed the Super Single Six.

Funny, there's ~ a 60% greater chance of getting into an SD shooting than ending up a Highway Fatality that same year. . .

                - A "may (won't) issue" on LTC's.

I used to have a super single six , it was stainless and I think it was a 6 or 6 1/2 inch barrel.
                  What a turd.
The 22lr cylinder was inaccurate , the 22mag cylinder was a joke.
Literately 2 shots out of 6 somewhere on a 25yd target.
Ammo didn't matter what I tired.
I actually sent it back to Ruger.
When I got it back the 22lr had improved very slightly ..... we are talking maybe a 5 inch group from the bench at 25yds.
And the 22mag cylinder now put 3 shots out of 6 somewhere on a target at 25yds.
                  Made me so mad.
                  I sold the thing.
I do believe though most people love theirs and can drive tacks they claim.
At the time I had a $99 rough rider that shot circles around my super single which I paid about $350 for.....

I wish they hadn't gotten away from the wood grips.

Easily replaceable by excellent wood grips by Altamont. My picture above is of a set by Altamont on my 1976 Super Single-Six sold by Ruger.

My brother sent a RUGER BH back to the nest for a sight tune-up a while back, sans wood grips.

They sent it back w/ a new set.

So, they will be riding w/ this one if he can put his finger on'em.

                          Jail Break!

                          Absolutely stoked about this revolver.

Fits the Hunter 1100-45 holster like it was made custom.

Feels like pure BH, great balance and handling, and makes the H&R 949'er look like a hobo clown.

Waiting for the BLM to open up.

a ruger single six is a must-have imho, congrats to o.p. mine always goes to the range. the only "problem" is that your single six may start a single action addiction. the next sign is if you start drooling over a ruger blackhawk centerfire...

Back when I was a young lad (1975ish)I bought a Single-six. I'd go up to Angeles on a Saturday morning and slowly run through a box of 49 cent ammo. It was a cheap way to get some shooting in. For some unexplained reason I sold that gun to a friend. Then about 5 or 10 years later, I couldn't stand it anymore and went out and bought another one to replace it. I still have that one and it taught me to never sell a gun, ever...
