Seriously Considering -> Bought a RUGER Single-Six Convertible.

Looking at the 5-1/2" Bbl'ed Mdl.

Have an H&R 949 5-1/2" that is kind of a low-end beater (and has some bore problems)

The Single-Six would use the same Hunter holster, and I'm already a big fan of the BH .357 Magnum.

Buy it, you won't regret it.

Rim fire revolvers are so flexible; having the option from .22 short CB's up to the hot rod 30 gr WMR's.

My first new handgun bought in 1976 and still my favorite. I have no idea how many thousands and thousands of rounds I've put through this gun and still looks and shoots like brand new. On the left:

The only thing I've done to it is replace the grips with Altamont (from Ruger) and replaced the sights with fiber optics (again, from Ruger).

After much deliberation, I went ahead and got a 5-1/2" Bbl'ed Mdl. RUGER Single-Six AS this afternoon.

Makes sense, seein' as I have a brand new Hunter 1100-45 holster that I got for the H&R.

Asked my older son which pistol he preferred out of several, including automatics - and he chose the Single-Six 5-1/2" as well.

Have a RUGER MK II Target 6-7/8" that is very precise and fun to shoot. This will round out the .22 LR stable.

Always wanted one, and w/ Two young shooters... it will get a lot of use.

            Thanks for the input.

What you see there is my Mark III 22/45 Target model. It came with the molded-in grips and I had a smith machine them off and install threaded inserts so I could use any 1911 grip. I can't remember where I got the grips I have on this pistol but they are very high quality. I also installed Ruger fiber optic sights and had another smith install all Volquartsen springs, hammer, etc. It has a very light trigger and is a real tack driver. Never jams either.

                    Crazy story.

I received one of these as a gift from parents for X-mas probably around 30 years ago. Funny my dad wrapped in in foil of all things, put it in a Sears clothing box and that's how I unwrapped it!

I loved shooting that pistol, especially with the magnum cylinder.

Unfortunately about 5 years later a buddy I worked with offered to buy it and I was needing $$. Sold it for $100!

                    Lessons learned... I guess??

How does that work without redoing the timing?

                        I had a stainless Single-Six Convertible w/ 6 1/2" barrel.

I liked it but sold it when I got a 22/45.

I like the feel and balance of the 5.5 inch barrel Rugers I have two a 45 Colt and a 44 Mag. The 22 convertible would be nice.
Mines a Heritage cheap shoots fine but a long way from a Ruger.

NOTHING epitomizes more what a pistol should sound like.....like the sound that you make when you cock a single six hammer back.

                              It's just math.

Nothing to re-do. Drops in and works. I have 8 rounders for both LR and Mag.
