That's a Mark III, not a Mark IV. Those two pistols could be the same barrel and lower part but field strip is totally difference.
Here Mark III, field strip procedures: After put in the slide, have to turn the pistol up side down pull the trigger and use the gravity force for the hammer drop down but in the up side down that means the hammer go up....... then turn the pistol up position insert the rod until hear a click then point the muzzle to up position and used the gravity force to drop the tinny pin to the middle of the something liked a claim ........ and watch you tube again and start all over again.
Mark IV: Push the button, pull out the slide, clean it, push the button, insert the slide, release the button . Done. That's worth 200 bucks

I had both. To field strip Buck Mark needs two difference sizes of hex wrench (the Contour need a torx and a hex wrenches)
To field strip the Ruger Mark II needs ............................. youtube.
By having the Ruger Mark II for 20 years and thousands of rounds went though the tube and it still shot like day one, I knew the value of the Ruger Mark 1-3 series. If Mark 4 Hunter is in the Roster, I sure to buy one at $750.Last edited by newbie1234; 09-29-2016, 10:58 PM.Comment

I remember 20 years ago, we didn't have youtube. I had to bring the Ruger Mark II IN THE PAPER BAG to the LGS and ask the sale man how to field strip it (couple times), all the sale man knew my face, my first name and we became friend

The ability to field strip a Mark I/II/III is a right of passage.

I bought my Standard Auto from stunt pilot Art Scholl for $25. It was and is LNIB. I've only put a couple hundred rounds through it. I originally bought it to be a hiking gun but it turned into a safe queen. Don't remember why maybe because it was a PITA to takedown. I would be a player for a stainless one as a plinker/snake gun. Hopefully the microstamp lawsuit will get settled and these will come to CA.Comment

Kind of odd that the two posts that the seller hasn't wiped out yet are both pistols "Brand new in box never been fired." And it seems like they tend to mostly post in the WTS section...The Target Model (not the Hunter model), it's here and it gone.
Mr. Outlawz - the new owner of Ruger Mark IV - must smilling ear to ear now.
Looks like someone roster exempt is acting as a non licensed firearms dealer... not to mention breaking CA's 5 transactions per calendar year law...
That or they are a really impulsive purchaser

Some are forever stuck at the maturity level most commonly found in bad middle school students.
Likely because they were ostracized or picked-on themselves in response to their own behavior.
Wouldn't it be great if the real world also had an Ignore List?
