    Ruger Mark IV in CA?

I received an email the other day about a new product coming out and while I don't remember the specific wording, I had the impression it would be 50 state legal. Today I see the news releases about the Mark IV... coming to Cali? It's not on their CA approved page, so not betting any money on it.

If it is a semi auto pistol like the Mark III, it won't get approved because of micro stamping.

Edit: I looked at the description, one button take down sounds great.

Looks like it's the same as the MkIII, but with a quick breakdown button of some kind? I hadn't heard of it until now. $729 MSRP for the hunter is awful steep.

I've never had a problem with the first three versions but variety is the spice of life.

I couldn't remember if rimfire was exempt or not.

Rimfire isn't roster exempt. About the only thing it is exempt from is AW laws for rifles.

Can't buy the Mk III in CA (new, at least), same will be true for the Mk IV. The one button takedown gets mentioned a lot, but I think equally important is they dropped the LCI and fixed the mag disconnect so that mags drop freely now. Now that they don't need to worry about selling in CA, they're free to make the gun the way it should've been.

If you look at the MSRP on them, that kills all incentive for me to want it.

                  $729 for a hunter? Crazy.

This is the first time the roster has stopped me from buying. Have a MKII and a MKIII. Would buy one of these.

Do have an adult son who lives in another state. Maybe he will be feeling generous around Christmas.

If it is on the Roster I definitely buy at least one.

Looks like a winner for Ruger. The reassembly procedure was always the biggest beef people have with the Mark series and this fixes the issue. Losing the LCI (dirt trap) was a good move as well.

It looks good. The new one-piece CNC frame is an improvement as well. I have a great MkII Competition, but would grab a MkIV in a heartbeat. Effin' Ca laws X-(
