I like the browning buckmark contour.
      Sorry, not sorry.

As was posted, I sold my Ruger Mk II and III pistols to help fund a Model 41. I'm not a bullseye target shooter, but can print those all day long from 20 yards away with it. Not fussy with ammo either, but it does do it's best with a few Eley selections.

Anything, especially the target guns from High-Standard, are very accurate, a few are Olympic grade. Mitchell Firearms produced them with mixed results after High Standard shut down production. An ex-HS engineer began producing copies with excellent quality and accuracy. He was sued by Mitchell, changed the name to one of three, in this case "Fort Worth Firearms". An LGS I frequented in Forth Worth sold them...beautiful workmanship and super accurate.

My most accurate pistol is a Fred Kart conversion on top of a Eessex frame.

Thanks for that.. I just saw one of those Ft Worth guns for sale at the new Cabelas here with a price tag of 700 or so on it.

Note: the Mitchell "High Standard" guns were reverse-engineered from the originals and were NOT up to the standards (no pun intended) of the originals and had a LOT of issues because of it, from magazine problems to poor metallurgy.
The new High-Standard guns, which are "real" because they are made from the original plans by people who bought the rights to the name (made in Houston) are not quite up to the originals, but are far far better than the Mitchell guns. In any case, the originals ranged from great to sublime. Any of the true "target" models, starting at the Sharpshooter and Trophy and ranging up to the Olympic and 10-X, will do for anything from plinking to formal competition. The Olympic (AKA Space Gun) was named that for a reason.. they were used in the Olympic Games.

+1 on the Ruger MKIII. If you can find someone offering a PPT on one at a reasonable price, get it.

My Ruger MKIII Target 5.5 stainless is easily the most enjoyable and accurate .22 handgun I have ever fired.

I love my MKII. I payed $225.00 for it many moons ago. Too bad it's not on the roster. If you can find a PPT, buy it.

The pistol I like is the Ruger 22/45 with bull barrel. You will not find it new in California anymore as it is not on the DOJ list. Maybe shop for a used one.

By the way, .22LR pistols are a great way to introduce new shooters to the sport.

Plenty accurate for casual shooting. Not as finicky as my browning buckmark.
I'd say that bad boy is dialed in. Love it!
