I dont get excited over remington bucket o bullets anymore, never had the opportunity to buy a bucket. But the ammo is just to damn unreliable and a pain for all the misfires in just a box of 500. I once had 5 duds in a box of 50 thunderbolt.
I now exclusivley by CCI stinger or standard velocity for long distance accuracy (350 yard shots). I had an opportunity just before 22lr scare to buy 5k of CCI for I think $0.05? I remeber it being that I save the tax. Never did see CCI in large quantities online ever again.

CCI is never going back to the 3 to 5 cents we use to enjoy. I am very happy at 8 to 10 cents a round now forncci

                  Congrats OP!

The last time I have been able to buy at Walmart was about 4-5 years ago. A panic had just ended and they lifted their ammo limit. There was an intact case of Federal 525 bricks and I bought it - $150 I think, for over 5k rounds.

It's been stored in a dry dark location ever since!

Golden Bullets are one of two bulk types that will cycle my Mosquito. Works in everything else, too.

my friend bought a bunch of GBs when they were cheap and i ran them while i was with him at the range. they run fine in his ruger 22/45 and also in my sig 522 but i had higher duds compared to my federal bulk packs and CCIs. it also left my gun dirty as hell and left some kind of residue all over the upper that was a pita to clean off. decided it wasnt worth the hassle and used my ammo from then on.

I only have bolt guns and never had any issues with any ammo in the past 20 years. I remember the wax on some old ammo melting and puddling up on my dash but that was a long time ago.
The new Sportsman's Warehouse in Rohnert Park had buckets for $99.95 and they lasted about a week before they sold out. I just bought some Winchester M-22 in the 800 round packs yesterday and they still had 60 boxes on the shelf. CCI is take your pick so I pick up 3 boxes a day everyday after work.
