    Holy Bucket O' Bullets Batman!

My wife & I went to walmart after dinner tonight. It's kind of like dinner and a movie, it's just that the entertainment is live action and usually in pajama pants & sandals. We live in Hemet so 'attractions' are plentiful and typically (unfortunately) are not able to see their feet or what is in front of them. I needed some 7.62 so we headed straight for sporting goods.

As soon as I rounded the corner I gasped. A 500 count tunderbolt pack for $25! I gasped and pointed. She then said, "What's that next to it?" I gasped, began to feel light headed, gained an overwhelming sense of euphoria, and staggered for a moment.

A Remington bucket o' golden bullets. $74 for 1400. There were two there plus the box of 500. We debated what we should do and settled upon one bucket and one box. The checker named Chuck rang us through and just put everything on one ticket. She whispered, "He doesn't even care about the one box per person rule. Should we get the other?"

I decided against it since I now feel sufficient. I hope that someone in need happened upon it and is telling virtually the same story right now to other strangers on the internet.

It looks just plain beastly and the extra heft up front does help manage recoil a bit better. Plus, an angel told me that when God called JMB to heaven it was to build him a full rail 1911!

Should have bought them all and put the extra up for sale at triple the price! That'd fit right in marketplace.

I always heard that Golden Bullets and Thunderbolts were not that good. Do you guys just want the cheapest 22LR to shoot and don't care about reliability or accuracy? Just curious.

Generally accuracy is fine. Some .22 guns are picky though (reliability) Accuracy itself under 50 yards is comprable to cci and much cheaper

If just shooting range ammo I personally can live with less reliability. It is good for malfunction clearance. For matches or hs of course highest quality ammo is key

As for accuracy this was shot at 25 yards with a bolt action and golden bullets. Bench of course. 50 rounds. Maybe could have been a little better with CCI but no real world difference

The haters of Golden Bullets are a vocal minority. I've had pretty good luck with them and apparently I'm not alone. Thunderduds are not generally well thought of.

Thunderbolts generally are a little underpowered

Golden Bullets are okay, Thunder Turds I'd only use in SHTF if I was out of ammo.

I've used up about 6500 of the 10K Thunderbolts I bought for about $0.04 a round back when. I can't recall any issues, really. Maybe they don't make them like they used to? Ruger 10/22 and Ruger Mark II Government model.

I've seen it before and I don't care for any 22lr that isn't CCI. Just my personal preference.

I've had zero issues with GB or TB. The latter however are a bit dirtier. No big deal for me since I always clean after every range visit.

Golden Bullets have come a long way in the last 10 years. They used to be almost worthless. So many dead and underpowered loads I threw a lot of boxes away in the past. They are much better these days, but the only way Id shoot them in my junk is if they were free.

Lot of shooters at Rim Fire Central are saying that the new ones are as bad or worse than the old ones. Bucket O' Bullets in particular. lots of cases with loose bullet heads, some empty cases, all around poor ammo. I'll stick to CCI.
