    Great info on this thread!

Not intending to jack this thread, but wanting to give the folks here at CG a heads up: If anyone is in the SF Bay Area (Milpitas, to be exact) looking for the HK MP5A5 .22, I have one on hold at Big 5, till tomorrow night. My PFEC hasn't cleared yet, so I will have to give this opportunity up. The MP5 is my dream weapon, as I grew up in the 80's watching all of those action films! PM me if interested.

If you plan to mod your MP5 in the future, you get more options with the A5. For example, the lighted forearm won't fit on the SD.

I think this might be the first firearm I ever sell.
Man I had a blast with mine! Glws!

Been working a **** ton with a possible new job in the works (even more hours!) More updates coming soon! Very excited about the routes I've chose for each gun. Contemplating adding an additional gladiator to the mix!

Just picked up this Bushnell AR red dot optic with T shaped aiming point ($186 on amazon). It was apart of a package deal on another firearm. Fits very snug on the factory rail. Aiming point isn't all that great with a fair bit of distortion. The best and worst part about this optic is that it's built like a tank. The goal of the gsg is to keep it lightweight, so this optic is by no means permanent, but it will allow me to test the worthiness of the factory rail (marketing gimic or true value add).

Very nice! What kind if scope and rail are you using there?

Looks like youre a big military buff too, my father and I used to restore 1940s dodge carry-alls

Also, welcome to Calguns! This place is awesome and 100% bad idea if you're trying to live on a budget!

Yes, agreed! RC tanks & Guns do not go well with the wallet! And thanks for the welcome!

The rail mount & scope were purchased at HKparts. The mount is pricey, but I followed the buy it once, buy it right approach.

First time I saw an RC tank long time ago, I always dreamed of getting one

Prepping for an outing this weekend, still sourcing more parts for these puppies, just got a bunch of mags for the gsg so I'm not limited to the one factory mag I had. On another note, I found some very odd wear on the HK, I'll post pics soon.

                        I love my GSG-5.

I've had it for about a year and have put upwards of 5K rounds through it.

The thing is a ***** to clean but otherwise it has been flawless.

I kitted mine out with a $30 holo sight from Amazon and that works great.

I've noticed that it prefers Federal brand ammo above all else.

                        It's a great plinker, plus it's tacticool!

See I think gsg5 owners lucked out because swapping all these parts to make mine into a gsg5 is a pain. And to get the best accuracy and utility of this rifle, you have to comvert. Congrats on your plinker! Post some pics when you can!

Inside the magwell, after only 11 mags exactly, the finish has been worn down to the metal! I'll post pics soon, work is still kicking my butt!

                                Gsg-5 has a 1 to 16 twist, six groove
HK has a 1 to 13.75 twist, also six groove
