So on my last range trip, the gsg had a light primer strike. Out of the 500ish rounds I've shot, I've now had two. Not a lot but too many for me. After doing some research, it looks like the cure has been discovered. Doing this tonight

Just got a chance to fire the Grandson's GSG 522. That gun is a kick in the pants. Might just have to get another one for me.

Didn't see a big need for the upgrades. Not sure what is needed, but really like the gun.

Faster and more accurate shots, faster mag changes, and quicker less cumbersome firearm cleaning are what wait for you with those cheap upgrades.

Funny you say that, if I find a deal on another gsg or another hk, I'm going to snag it. Everyone loves these guns after shooting them.
They're the most shot guns in my collection currently
You should definitely get one. Awesome backpack gun with the retractable stock. And the A5 is so light!

Well, it's on order. Couldn't resist. I got the full stock, but can always swap out the retractable.

Going to order the upgrade parts for both after payday. My LGS called his distributor and they only had two left, with no more on the horizon, so I jumped on it. $300 out the door. Also ordered some extra mags $32 a pair.

That's a score. I paid 309 plus fees for mine, but I was willing to pay more for a gun that didnt have a loose retractable stock (many I held didnt lock up tight) It's awesome that they sell the mags in two packs too. I've been keeping my peepers peeled for a full stock for mine. Looks like you can adapt an hk91 stock to work too.

Congrats on the new piece! You'll likely find yourself hoarding .22 and on the hunt for a dualing tree!

I've been lucky lately with ammo at Cabelas. A dualing tree is already on my wish list.

Buds Gun Shop has the rifles with 10 round mags on their site. $290 plus shipping. Just need an FFL on your end that doesn't charge a fortune.

The 522 SD has a fake suppressor 9.05" barrel, plus fake suppressor, manual safety, and a black synthetic stock with textured pistol Grip. Other features are a ribbe

I want to get a couple of factory 10 round mags in case I ever need to bring it to California. Mine comes with 22 round mags and I ordered a couple of extra. They are original GSG mags.

Thats the issue, all the shops in the fresno/clovis area charge an additional 50 fee on top of the transfer fee and taxes. So unless it's a crazy good deal, it's better to buy local. Atleast for me.

Yea, my LGS charges $20 if I order something on line, nothing if he orders it or I go thru gun genie. No fee for the NICS check. Arizona is nice about that.

Well, I took your advice and ordered two sets of push pins and two conversion kits. Trying to decide on which of several optics to add to the mix.

I like the trigger guard on the kit and the front sight. The takedown pins was a no brainer.

I saw you changed the rear sight. What is the difference between the original and the replacement?

The gsg522 sight is like a football goal while the replacement mp5 sight is like a peep sight. Makes more of an easy to use sight system when paired with the replacement front sight from the conversion kit. It's a night and day difference! Plus it's only 15 bucks.

Also, the gsg522 sight doesn't click tight, stays kinda loose.

As far as optics go, I'm going to renounce my first impressions of my Bushnell AR red dot, it's a quality piece.
But I'm going to pick up two more optics for this rifle, first one is a TRS25, the other will be a surprise
