S&W model 41 performance center edition

well I am thinking about getting the S&W model 41 performance center edition. But I can't really find any good info on the S&W web site about the deference between the standard and the performance center models.
Anyone know what the dif is? and is it worth it?

The only difference is the price and the PC stamped on the side.

Have you ever shot a regular old model 41?

once, yes, a while back though
really I loved my old Trailside and was looking for a used one to pick up (there is also the xesse but the standard grip is different from the trailside and doesn't fit me. so that would have to change first thing)
but I do like made in USA so giving the 41 a good once over.

I imagine the PC version is just extra attention to fit and "polish" but just wondering what the real dif is

The model 41 is quite easy to obtain in California.

You don't need to concern yourself with the "Roster" when purchasing a Model 41.

Model 41 is an Olympic Pistol exemption item.

It is my understanding that Smith and Wesson do not make very many Model 41's standard or Performance Center. Read somewhere they do a production run for just 3-4 months each year and then that is it for the year. Don't know if it is true because you don't see a whole lot of them new on the shelves of gun stores.

They are a rare bird, that's for sure. But definitely worth the wait. Nice that they're totally roster/AWB exempt, too.
You will never, in your life, have a chance like this again.
If I were you, I would not pass this up. I would not let this go by...this is rare.
                      Come on...what harm??

c good "Model 41 is an Olympic Pistol exemption item. "

correct. There are a lot of guns on the Olympic Exempt list, and therefore perfectly legal to buy new or used, through a FFL. Most but not all are .22. the Trailside and the model 41 are both on the list as well as several very high end target pistols.

Cabellas has at least one of the PC versions in stock now. and they are not that hard to find at gunbroker, and elsewhere

                            so the questions still remains,
what exactly is the dif with the PC version?

You think too highly of S&W and that's what they are counting on. PC is a marketing gimmick.
