Well, shipping is VERY quick, I chose the $5 cheapo shipping option, ordered Tuesday, and just got an email that my package is in my office.

I have two of the two stage 8/8 Kidd triggers with the long magazine release on my rifles and I love them. Can't say enough good things about them.
The rifle on the top is all Kidd minus the barrel, receiver and sights. It will shoot dime sized groups at 25 yards all day. The one on the bottom is all Kidd. It is new so I haven't had a chance to see what it will really do. I just had that scope laying around, so I put that on while I save my pennies for a Meuller or something similar.

I think you'll like the way the Kidd two stage performs...did you get the barrel, too?
If so, mine seems to shoot very well with either SK Match Rifle or Wolf Match Extra (I believe they're the same ammo)

I have the Kidd single stage 1 to 5 LBS adjustable. Like it better than Timney and Volquartsen.

And yet another option is Ruger's new trigger group. Though I have no experience with them.

They're cheap and lighter than stock but the ones that I've felt had a creepy-mushy break.

KIDD single stage here set at around 1-1/2~2#. Adjustability is nice. Crisp break, no creep and plenty light for 99% of users.

I got the parts Friday, less than a week after ordering, and for $5 shipping. Not too shabby.

It was well packed, and felt like one item in the box, rather than two crashing in to each other.

There is a problem, though. I was anxious to see how the trigger pull compares, so I dry fired it extensively., and the hammer broke. (Not really).



I hate the 10/22 magazine release, so I thought I'd give this a try.



Now I just need to find time to install it, then shoot it.

So I had a few minutes this morning before work.

I pulled the action from the stock. I pulled the 35 year old bolt out for the first time. No tools, just finger pressure. It was dirty on top but otherwise clean, as I'd blasted it with clp and a toothbrush through the years.

I had the bolt, trigger group, and scope mounted in about 20 minutes.

Photos later, but the scope sits right on the bore now, I got lucky with the rings already on the rifle.

just wait until you try that trigger, Kidd's two-stage is amazing, their service is excellent too, if you ever have to use them.

I built two Kidd rifles last year. One with a single stage and the other with a two stage flat trigger. I prefer the two stage flat trigger, but you honestly can't go wrong with either one.

Mini range report. I need to upload the photos, but I was able to sneak out to Angels today for a session before and another after my meeting.

I had replaced the stock barrel with a bull barrel, and the stock with a hogue overmold model, added a Harris bipod, and a soft recoil buffer from rimfire central, as well as a stainless hex action screw.

This go around, I swapped the trigger out for a kidd two stage, 8 oz and 8 oz., a kidd bolt, and a Kidd scope mount. The action is buttery smooth now.

After I settled in with the super light trigger, my groups settled down a lot. The trigger is best described as a sort of mushy but well defined slack section, followed by a definite second stage. It breaks like a candy cane, to borrow a phrase from someone who knows. It breaks exactly the same each time. After several shots, you forget about the first stage, and just set it up for the last 8oz. With the rimfire ammo, the whole rig barely moves.

I sighted in the scope, and shot some groups. I had the dregs of a "333" copper plated pack, a bunch of federal bulk, and a tiny bit of eley.

Naturally, the eley shot best, but the 333 was able to make a ragged hole at 50y. I had several failures to fire with it, maybe 6 out of 150 or so. No FTf with the eley or federal bulk.

I put my gopro on the barrel for a bit, but I don't think it's going to show much, I was trying out the mount for the first time.

Suffice to say, if the zombi apocalypse hits, this will be a go to eradication rifle. Inside 100 yards, it's deadly.
