So any comments on the durability of the PRO?
I have used Aimpoint Pros and Eotechs. I personally like Eotechs but both work fine. Either one is durable to the point of complete overkill for the majority of people who buy them with their own money for personal use.

The firearm and accessories industry loves to sell high end, ultra durable "Military grade" gear to people who shoot a few hundred rounds a year from a bench rest in a climate controlled, carpeted indoor range at pistol distances.

It is all part of the "Zombie Apocalypse" marketing strategy, which is code for "Stupid, slow, unarmed human-like moving targets who stumble into your crosshairs and explode violently, proving that you are a bad *** warrior with a rifle without having to deal with that whole "armed opponent who returns fire" danger type stuff.

ROFL. Too true. Having said that, though, ask Korean shop owners in LA whether or not those hordes were engaging them in lengthy gun battles during the LA riots. Aside from a few drive-by type incidents, once the Korean-Americans carrying rifles came out, those neighborhoods stayed pretty quiet. Not a whole lot of difference between rioting crowd and "zombies" when it comes down to it.

I havnt read one single review that puts eotech ahead of aimpoint.
I've only used an EOTech once, and was able to hit steal out at 400 yards easily with it. I actually like the reticle. Would love the reticle of an EO with the battery life and durability of an Aimpoint.

That's really why I was leaning towards the Aimpoint, was the durability and battery life.

The value of the 2A and self defense / defense of property is not lost on all my Asian brothers out there. They weren't just standing on their rooftops during the riots; they formed ad-hoc QRF groups and rolled around proving mutual aid to business associates in K-town and surrounding areas.

All I want is an EO reticle with the battery life and durability of an aimpoint, is that too much to ask?!

I've never had an issue with my Eotech but then again I've never used it for anything past 100 yards. Btw all Eotech models come with a 1 moa center dot, it's whether you want the 65 moa circle or BDC dots.
I would also go to a eotech for anything 1-100 yards, BUT he wants to be shooting 200 yards. The glass on the aimpoint is a lot easier to see through compared to the eotech past 100 yards, AND the op said he wants the 6moa reticle in his first post

Untill I actually bought an Eotech, I use to think the same thing. Fact is, I shoot faster and more accurately from close range to 200 yards with an Eotech. There's some things that make the Eotech superior to an Aimpont, and vice versa. Actually trying one may change your mind, it certainly did mine.
And to the OP, I own an Aimpoint Pro, only criticism I have was I didn't like the clunky knob on the mount, I've had it catch on things occasionally. Changed it out for a lighter weight, streamliined mount.
Oh, and it's harder to see a small target at 200 yards with a 2moa dot than the Eotech's 1moa dot.
I have used them, but most of my colleagues and friends own trijicons and aimpoints so my experience is limited, but I've shot with them on m4s and scars, also he wants the 6moa reticle, so I would put the aimpoint ahead of eotech any day of the week with the 6moa reticle, and shooting 200 yards. Would I pick the aimpoint for anything below 100 yards? No

In the end; if you're not out in the field, in a fire fight; you'll never know the difference.

Because you are the only person on this website who has carried a rifle as a duty weapon, in uniform, as a tool of your trade.

I was saving for an Aimpoint Micro, then found this:

It's Primary Arms' version, with 50k hour battery life, for $170. They just came out, and sold out in a few days, but it is another option.

                              Meprolight?
Mepro TRU-DOT RDS’s battery life is now 15,000-18,000 hours on maximum brightness from a single lithium AA battery. That’s further extended by a motion sensor activated power saving mode.
This is a TFB exclusive preview of the upcoming Meprolight (Mepro) TRU-DOT RDS battery powered reflex sight. The Mepro TRU-DOT RDS is a lower cost commercial version of the Mepro M5 reflex sight ( TFB preview), which it was developed as the successor to the Mepro M21 ( TFB review). The original criteria for the M5 called for an increase in the field-of-view, adjustable illumination levels and a price of $400-$450.
