Murby, I hope you get it all sorted out and my offer to help in anyway I can still stands. I have had the pleasure ( not really a pleasure) of shooting many different shotguns with rifled slug barrels at steel targets to 200 yards. I can assure you excellent accuracy is possible with the right ammo. I recent;y participated in a shooting event where almost everyone shot 100 at 200 yards using Nikon's Slughunter Shotgun scope with BDC reticle and Nikon's Spot On Ballistic Program. So, I have no doubt Murby's rifled slug 870 barrel can't do the same. Hopefully when he has time we can get the matter corrected.

Here's a pic from our recent shoot. Browning 20 ga. with rifled slug barrels. Great shooting little guns!

Yes I did... But at 50 yards with hornady rounds it should not make any difference..

I have not ignored it... Consulted with a master gunsmith and he told me what to try.
Can't do anything until the season is over as I am using it right now.

Put it on another rifle, and not a shotgun. If the issues follows, its the scope, if not, its the user or application.

Once the firearm season is over, a master gunsmith told me to exercise the turret adjusters about 20 times from front to back. He said the mechanism just hasn't broken in yet (sort to speak)...

What it comes down to is this.. the turret adjustments are a very fine and precise piece of hardware and the steel pieces need to slide ultra smoothly against each other for maximum accuracy. New scopes are known for having the same problem but most people don't notice it because most people don't understand MOA adjustments.

So, because I am currently shooting 1.5 error to the right and zero elevation, I'm going to use it and make do until the season is over.. Then, I will exercise the turrets as suggested and try again zeroing again.

I have read each and every post in this thread and have mulled over all the very useful and informative advice.

              Thanks !!
