Not even a comparison. Aimpoint is way better cuz I have 2. Lol. Seriously they're way more sleek and slim than a big clunky eotech which is what I had b4 my Aimpoints. Teach yourself to shoot both eyes open and the whole tube vs holo arguments become alot less valid. Also battery life on a t1 is 50,000 hrs so I mean come on.....

I would not mount the sight at the rear, that will be the slowest to pick up in your field of view. The farther forward the better. There's a reason you see them mounted towards the front of the receiver on most peoples rifles. Heck, I've even seen some people put them out on the handguard a little ways. Just don't bridge the gap.

And it leaves room for a magnifier.

I own an Eotech EXPS2-0 and an Aimpoint T-1. Both have their own pros and cons. For me, most of the pros for the Aimpoint are related to its construction (light weight, durable, long battery life) while most of the pros for Eotech are related to its actual performance (better reticle, large window, smaller MOA dot).

I much prefer the Eotech in actual use. I'm faster to acquire the reticle with its 65 MOA ring, which calls more attention to my eye. Its 1 MOA center dot is more accurate for me at 200 yards. Its large window also makes it easier to get on target in certain positions such as rollover prone when I have a less than perfect cheekweld. The Eotech would be the perfect optic for me IF it were lighter and could last 5 years of continuous use on a single battery.

If I ever buy another Aimpoint, I would get one of the 30mm versions since a larger lens will be more forgiving of improper cheek weld (very useful for training classes).

I vote neither. Both are limited. I use my ACOG as a RDS and a magnified optic and wouldn't have it any other way. Tried the aimpoint thing... sold it after 1 use, no way no how. Had an XPS for a year, and also a aimpoint magnifier... could not compare with a simple ACOG. Take a look at them all.
