    Glock Light / Laser Combo

Anyone have any experience with the Glock laser / light combo's? Anyone have experience with any of the other brands out there (Streamlight, Burris, etc...)? Experience with both (pros / cons of each)?

I've been thinking that might be a good little addition for my model 21 when sitting inside the fast access safe. If I ever need it in a hurry, I'd hate to be looking around for my Surefire... and illumination rather handy.

I've seen them (non-dimming model) at Natchez for $160.

    No One?

So, no one here has used one of these (or similar)?

Dwarf. Next time we get together, you're welcome to try out the 3-M streamlight I use on my glock.

I like it better than the 6P, but the downside is when you have the light mounted, the muzzle will be on whomever you point it at.

Good if intruder, not so good if on a family member.

The 6P, (not attached) allows one to identify the target (possible family member?) without having the muzzle on them.

ETA: And one can hold the 6P at arms length if your worried about it being a bullet magnet for an intruder. Nothing says shoot here more than a flashlight.

Thanks Bud. I'll take you up on that offer.

Hmmm... I guess you don't know what it's like to be around you when you've been drinking.

Oh I think you and I have played the 'look here' game with 6P's often enough while intoxicated that many in our group would not be forgetting soon our entertainment value. Rangers, certainly the ladies, and our camping neighbors for sure

Rest assured, walking the campfire coals, 'duraflame' jenga with welding gloves, jello shots, hypothermia in the snow, and the loud but friendly 'touch down' comments directed at the couple who just finished making intimate noises inside their tent will never be mentioned by me. EVER

Yup, 'pure entertainment value' means nothing going on over here.

I think we're getting off topic, but...

As you and I both know, picking up a burning duraflame log (even with protective gloves) is NEVER a good idea!

Use split oak for your jenga pile.

Disclaimer - The parties in this discussion do not recommend the handling of burning material, using protective clothing or otherwise. Likewise, they recommend anyone ignoring this advice should have suitable fire retardant (water, LOTS of water) on hand, a well cleared area with little combustible material on the ground AND have a plan of how to reach the nearest hospital.

Well arguably, God gave you two hands soley for symmetry. If dumb things must be done, then do them with your support hand. It's your spare.

Dwarf, doesn't your brother have a pistol with the light/laser setup ok his HK USP? How does that work for him?

One thing I will add with regards to the thread. I don't keep the M3 streamlight attached to the pistol (holster doesn't have the space), but instead have belt holster for the light. It attaches quickly. I dont use the pistol for HD however. Just for night shoots.

Big fan of the 11-87 and integrated foregrip.

Of course I still have the issue with the muzzle pointing at whatever is in front. But with no kids, i'll just sit back in bed, point at the door, and wait for the cavalry. Your situation is somewhat different with the kids.

Surefire also makes a pistol light like the M3 but its pricey. Hopefully someone around here has some input on the M6 Streamlight, or the Burris. I'm seen them at cheaperthandirt and midwayusa. in the $100+ range.

He (DB) got a laser to go with his USP (IIRC it was made by HK), but it died within 60 rounds. He sent it back and got a replacement. That broke within 100 rounds. I don't know if he sent the replacement back, but he obviously wasn't thrilled.

I agree it's not ideal to muzzle things you can't identify, but I'd rather be able to identify my target (and backdrop) in the dark and rely on training and experience to not pull the trigger until appropriate.

Still not certain I'll go this route, but wanted to explore it as an option. Plus the laser would give the Mrs. an advantage in a pinch, since she doesn't get as much range time as I do.
