    I would see it as a better alternative to the RMR/SRO. But a more usable choice than a Vortex. I am not a fan of the Holosun and its hyped recticle (except for the 8MOA circle); I want a simple red circle dot. Vortex would fit the bill but the footprint was the problem...

        The Glock's cut-out area is large enough to fit any adapter for any optic. Looking at your pictures you can see that the RMR actually doesn't meet the front edge of the plate, meaning the plate (and the cut-out area) is longer than the RMR.

        A slide that was milled for an RMR with no adapter plates will have a cut-out area that's specific to the RMR dimensions, including the length. That means that any aftermarket adapter would have to fit the RMR footprint and raise the deck to allow a longer Vortex to clear the front and back limitations of the RMR dimensions.

          Yeah gotcha, I looked at my Brownell's slides' cuts and they are snug against a Swampfox and a HS507C... with RMR footprints.
