Trijicon HD is one of the most popular ones. I have them on my Glocks and I'm happy with them. I can't give you a comparison or anything but it's something to look into.

I used to be a Meprolight fan until recently. Had an offspec M&P Shield rear sight that I could push through the rear sight channel with a finger, then a USP front sight that broke when being installed with an MGW sight tool by an Armorer.

Now I like Trijicon night sights. As a dept Armorer, I've seen and installed more than I can remember and haven't seen or experienced any issues with the sights. I did have someone bring in one of those Hi-Speed Low Drag type race gun slides for a Glock 17 that I had issues installing Trijicon sights, but it wasn't the fault of Trijicon. Took a look at the sight channel of the aftermarket slide under magnification, it was the slide that was poorly machined.

I've installed only 3 or 4 Tru Glo Pro's and they seemed to be decently manufactured, so those may be a good option for your Glock 30 if you don't want to spend the money on Trijicon.

My newest favorite are Night Fision, but unfortunately they don't make a sight for the Glock 30. I checked their website, they make sights for almost every Glock model except the 30. Real bummer

The link above is for the 9mm, but they are available for the 30. I can tell you that I prefer the XS Sights over the Ameriglo Agent sights. If you have trouble seeing the front sight, the XS sights might help.

So, I run the XS because the large front glows bight in both daytime and Darkness. It allows me to make hits fast and accurate out to 25 yards with a 26. I use paper plates for targets. The XS are kind of weird to install. The front is pretty standard. The the rear sight slips loosely into the rear dovetail, which is unsettling to old guys like me. Most of us are accustomed to a tight fitting rear sight that is drift-adjustable. There are two tiny set screws on the XS that hold the rear sight in place while you apply red loc-tite. It works, but you won't be able to drift the rear. If I ever need another set, XS would be my choice.

Thanks for sharing your experiences. I am leaning quite heavily toward trijicon, and am not really a fan of the meprolight stuff.

I installed some Ameriglo Agent night sights on my wife’s G26 and they’ve been great. Very similar to the Spartans that you mentioned of, but having the U notch and serrations on the rear sight.

These same sights are being used on FBI issued glocks hence “agent” as the model name and I believe a similar version with a square notch instead of the U notch are being used on Glock gen 5 ns models as well.

I'm impartial to Dawson or Trijicon. I'm assuming you're looking for night sights for defensive handgun use, which also requires positive target identification as well as being able to see a threat. Do not rule out getting a WML or a handheld.

If you have eye problems then I could see getting an XS Big Dot. Short of that, no one uses them in competition where speed and accuracy is king. Not sure how that's any different than "combat shooting".

IMHO night sights are worthless. In order for them to work it's too dark to positively ID your target. A fiber optic sight is a better option.

For what it's worth, installing sights goes a hell of a lot easier when the sight base and the slot it goes into on the slide are lubricated with a small amount of molybdenum or tungsten disulfide high content paste. That small amount of paste is just enough to reduce the friction substantially of pushing the sight into position. And there are no worries that the sight will move later or fall out as long as the sight is a proper fit to begin with.
