AR15 Pistol - what optic to get?

I want to get an optic for my AR15 pistol. For those of you with experience, what option did you go with and why?

Looking for some recommendations on what to get as I want to place an order soon.

Depends on whatcha want to do with it, right? What purpose will it serve?

Range toy? Primary home defense? Do you want to cowitness with irons?

I like holographic + magnifier.

Most people will run either a dot or a 1-4 max, just depends on what range you need to use it at and how weight averse you are.

I went with a red dot with magnifier on my 10.3. Compact and handy up to 200 yards.

If it's for home defense, I would suggest literally anything from Aimpoint. The battery life is stellar and they have been proven in combat for years. You don't want to deal with a dead optic in a life or death scenario.

This is my 11.5" with Aimpoint T1. I tried a 1-4x SWFA scope on it, but found the red dot to be so much faster for target acquisition. The 1-4x is now on my wife's 16".

I enjoyed my eotech for the larger sight picture and reticle. I enjoy the aim point t2 because of the lightweight / compact design and battery life
