Hogs are great for shooting at live targets, but they are damn smart and they learn. That's what makes it impossible to eradicate them with firearms.
A shooting buddy of mine retired to NV and is now living in TX looking for land to buy. He's a vet and compares the hog problem to a guerrilla war.

Have you tried the bucket of tannerite near the feeder trick? Wait till about 20 of those hogs gather around and make some pigs fly.

FYI on ATN thermal scopes and FBI...

        TLDR...

US DOJ / FBI is demanding user info on persons that downloaded the app that is used with ATN thermal scopes.
^This is the Gov attempt to acquire data on who owns/uses thermal scopes without having to get search warrants issued, for the manufacturer and every distributor/seller, to obtain that info.

They claim they are trying to find the source of Thermal scopes being exported from the US to enemy combatants in violation of ITAR. For some reason I think Minnesota might be a good place to look.

Pulsar also has an app but they aren't asking for that (yet?). Many other thermal sights do not have wifi/app so they won't have any idea who owns/uses those scopes. It would seem they would need probable cause to obtain warrants in order to get records from vendors.

Got the binos will see if they are better than my eyes at night. Our hogs are on feeder about 100 yards away. Just to far for 00 buck. I am hoping that ATN II will work on my 6.8 spc.

Down there we just use a pound of ffg works better. Wrap it with 8 pennynails with duct or pour melted wax over them.

I'm going on a hog hunt in TX and will be using thermal to locate them.

Don't bother with NVG unless you have a budget of at least 4-5 thousand. If you can't, then it flat out isnt for you, you're wasting your money on cheap garbage, and you should give up on that avenue of interest and stop lying to yourself that you can afford useful night vision.
