    EOTech... LOVE IT!!!!!

Guys, Just wanted to say I had my last day of shooting hear in AZ and set my EOTech up!! Man did I have fun today.
Then I showed up at home and had my BB installed in about 1 minute!! (THANKS RIFLE GEAR). Ran my last 30 round clip through it before I left the range. Man I will miss that in Cali.!

Well guys I will be out there next month, Cal. legal and ready to rock and roll.

By the way I am so happy with the EOTech sight. Man I am loving it. Makes me think I spent to much on my iron sights?! Owell I will still use the Iron Sights when I feel like having fun.

Looking forward to my EoTech (when I can afford it). Was home in CA, should have installed the BB in AZ before crossing the border.

I have to say it's the best red dot I have ever used, I love mine.
I am able to hit 18" at 400 yards most of the time (unless there is a lot of wind)
It always holds 0 and lines up with Irons perfect, I bought my 512 for $320 before everything went crazy

Please, don't call an EOTech a red dot. I understand your excitement and I love them as well. Its like calling an AR15 a deer gun.

Its a Holographic site. If it was a red dot, then its a $50 copy of an eotech. Lots of people are calling red dots holosights and holographic sights. they are not. A true holographic sight is a laser image projected on the glass in every possible place at one time, but you can only see one at a time.

Hold your EOTech with your right hand. Take your left hand and cover up all the glass except the top corner. Watch what happens. Do this with a "red dot" even a $700 Aimpoint and nothing will happen.

Does calling it a red dot reduce its ability to work as advertised? Does anyone suffer any ill effects from calling it a red dot? Is there a pressing reason why calling it a red dot should be prohibited? Is there an explanation as to why you care so much?

              Just wondering.

How long will eotech batteries last on the 512 model that uses AA batteries. Just curious becus i like them and want to buy one. I was wondering if i left it on, how long would it stay on continuously before going dead? Becus i did that to my truglow and its didnt work next day.. but the truglow was only $40 of course.

Yes it does hurt it. As does calling a Red dot a Holosight or Holographic sight. It does two things, It gives the impression that there is no difference between a Red dot and an EOTech. It also gives the impression a simple EOTech clone (which is a Red dot) is the same thing. The other way it gives the impression a simple Red Dot reflex sight is a holographic image.

Does it hurt to call a Honda Civic a Truck? No. Its just false information which leads to confusion to people who don't otherwise know.

Red Dots and EOTechs are two different creatures, each with their own pros and cons. When people start to believe the EOTech is a red dot, they have taken away all the positive things, (and superior traits) of an EOTech.

So, I take it your EOTech didn't work as it should have after the OP called it a red dot. Why should I spend $500 on a something that will cease to work simply because someone called it something it technically isn't?

The Eotech has an auto-off function after 4 or 8 hours, depending on which button you use to turn it on.

Here's the mfr spec on battery life. Quality name-brand lithium batteries are recommended if you get an AA, because of the longer runtime, better low temperature performace, and lower likelihood of leaking and damaging the sight.

                          - Battery life:
Eotech N battery version - 200 hours at the 12 (of 20) setting
Eotech AA version - 600 hours (alkaline), 1000 hours (lithium) at the 12 (of 20) setting.
                          Eotech CR123 version - 1100 hours at the 12 (of 20) setting

Yes, I understand. I'm an old guy who likes to try to educate too much.

Just make the 30rd clip in your Stag M16 stays full.
