You could even get away with a standard and move the mount forward a bit more. So if you reload, You would be able to put a Caldwell Brass catcher mount between the BUIS and the scope mount.

    Awesome thanks for the help.

Compared to the AD, some guy monkeyed with my sling and unlocked my scope QD between stages. The scope dropped off the rifle during the next stage, I picked it up, clamped it back on with the QD, and proceed to finish the stage. The zero held. Just for that, the AD is worth it.

Hmm I may try my include PA Deluxe mount for now. It's cheap but it's the cup kind like you mentioned. If it doesn't work, I'll decide on something later I suppose. Thank you.

I would really double check to make sure that your positioning is right. Your picture of your other rig looks like the scope is too far back. But again, it's where you need it, not me.

I've had the PA mounts too. The finish is probably one of the worst I've seen and the unit is heavy, but the mount itself is good. I recommend lapping them.

Dont get me wrong. The Aero Precision mount is marketed as an ultralight mount. It achieves that. If thats what you want, its a good option.

My AR rifles are used at matches. They have been pushed off tables, dumped in the back of the car, leaned on barricades etc. I need them to take abuse.

Most scopes mounts Ive had have a bedding process. The first install seems to settle in after time. The second torquing is the one that lasts.

I got a set of Warne mounts & I was really impressed with them. They weigh about an ounce less than the Burris PEPRs (but still weigh more than the Aeroprecision), have the bottom/top style mounting arrangement & the mounting rings fully close. On many cheaper mounts there's a gap of about 1mm between the rings. They claim repeatable zero if it's torqued back to the same level but I have not tried that.

Can't say if it's attributtable to just the mount, but when I installed it my scope was perfectly zeroed at 25 & only needed about 1" of adjustment at 100.

Man, those are another level is probably "settle" for a Larue before I get to a Spuhr.

Couldn't agree more. It is my opinion that Bobro makes the best mounts period.

What's so awesome about the composite spacers ? I grabbed a couple of those SSALT mounts when they were $29 for the recent sale. I think they will be used with a 30mm Vortex and the SWFA 10x42 I have incoming, but you never know, I may have to use those 1" spacers someday. These mounts sounded like a great deal @ $60 let alone $30.

That is why I didn't get the AP Ultralite.

I got a Warne skeleton mount. It was the best value.

Those look nice. Cabela's has a decent price on those as long as you want black.
